These are dark days in America. I can only hope we can brave the coming storms that lay ahead. Thanks for adding this. Whenever I lose faith in Americans, I read this and I remember what we will really be fighting for.

You know it's sad that America has forgotten its past.

Pretty faithful to the book and film. Chapter 16 is my favorite from the book. EATS when the croppers stop off at a slick Route 66 trucker's diner and ask for bread. I get hungry just reading it.

John Steinbeck. Great, greatest ! American. As long as there are such people, as long as the nation gives birth to such talents, nothing is lost. As I study history, I begin to believe in this nation. No matter what ! Not on capitalism, not on Vietnam and Korea and the cold war. The nation is talented. 60E everyone hates them for Vietnam, and they (young people) give the world new music and counter-culture ! This nation will survive ...

This is not the John Steinbeck The Grapes of Wrath. It is someone else's short version. I have the actual book in front of me now.

This is a broadcast of a teleplay. She back in the day before television people had radios and for many people that were illiterate this was the closest thing they could experience to the book

This is a condensed version therefore much of the beauty of the story and the mastery in which the way it was crafted are lost. Seek out the book and be rewarded.
