Excellent narrative by Donaly Brice. I've known Donaly for a long time, having met him in the early 1980s when he was an archivist for the Texas State Library. He has written the only book on this Great Comanche Raid of 1840 and the Battle of Plum Creek. I used his expertise when writing my own book, Frontier Defense in the Civil War: Texas Rangers and Rebels.

Great video, well done by Donaly as well as the makers. Factually unbeatable by the experts, we need more videos like this on the Old West. Thanks to Donaly, the makers and the Wild West History Association!

Great storyteller! Would love to hang out around a campfire with a cold brew or two and just listen...

Huston would not charge, and took a defensive position off their horses, until The Big Chief was shot, and Ranger Caldwell implored- "Now General ,We got them whipped". The Rangers pursued and the rest is history. Huston's reputation as a sissy led to his early retirement.

id love to visit some native american battle sitesin Texas, much forgotten conflicts. the Tonks have an interesting view on human consumption, it didnt sound spiritual eating human right after a battle though ...i thought they had a song and dance burning insense then the deed ...rough times back then ...
