As much as I like how the current trailer looks, I hate that the Kubrick project that Spielberg announced he is currently working on will now (probably?) not realized in the near future since the market now has a Napoleon , that will probably also get his actor an Oscar nomination, at the very least, and form the public's preference. Well, we'll see. It would be actually quite interesting to have two approaches at the same time and be able to compare them to each other. They would surely be different and that would be a very interesting thing for an audience to see and understand and appreciate the uniqueness of artists more, which especially Scott and Spielberg undoubtedly are. They both have a very unique handwriting, so I hope both will be given a shot.

Depending on how this movie performs and is received I think there may be a very strong possibility of Spielberg (or someone else) to take the Kubrick project and adapt it to a massive HBO miniseries (where one could get at least 6 maybe 8 hours to tell the story from beginning to end). Thing is with Napoleon you could even make a movie based on the Retour des cendres, basically a Napoleon movie without Napoleon and offer a window into post Napoleonic France/ Europe. I hope the Ridley Scott movie will be good, but I've got some doubts based on these first trailers.
