I would guess CJI comes back next year with big sponsorship money though and the heavyweight division is stacked. @@MrHamncheez I’m not talking about getting paid for the views from KZitem, the event sponsors pay based on viewership too. This is the biggest ever watched live event in BJJ history by a long way, it will get multiple millions in sponsorship alone next year plus ticket sales. I would guess they will easily do 20,000 tickets next year, so probably $3million in ticket sales alone. Remember they didn’t have long to market this and people had already bought adcc tickets.

Can we get a Tackett/Ruotolo dual meet? Have each brother face the other set of brothers. Same rules, in the alley, or hell, just in an alley.

Under a scoring system incorporating the best rules of wrestling, judo and bjj: Kade Ruotolo = 54 points (RD1 14, RD2 24, RD£ 16) Andrew Tackett - 51 points (RD1 13, RD2 13, RD3 25) {This was the highest scoring bout of any CJI bout} 2 Points - Submission Attempt (Must be close) 2 Points - Guard Pass 4 Points - Takedown (Must be grounded, if opponent pops back up this is not a takedown. If you sit and butt scoot or pull guard your opponent will receive points for the takedown) 4 Points - Mount (Front or back, must have at least one hook in) 4 Points - Escape from submission attempt and get back to feet 4 Points - Reverse position from bottom to top 1 Point - Pin (For every 10 seconds you're grounded your opponent will receive 1 point, this timer will restart during close submission attempts or when in 50/50 positions. Please let me know if you approve or disapprove of this scoring system.

This is the first match i've ever saved to watch with my kids (who also train). Simply can't say that about BJJ matches normally. Watched first 30 secs and paused it to watch with them later.

The alley, open scoring, and lack of points-for-position make this high energy version of jiujitsu possible. *This* could gain wider appeal in a way that a snooze fest like two people collar tying each other for 10 minutes to avoid being scored on cannot.
