Thanks for the video - I bought one right after watching. I am STUNNED with how quiet it is - I know I saw your testing, but you know how it is - seeing (and hearing) is really believing! Loving this nice upgrade and may replace my other Rigid units (which are fine, but so much louder)! I use a vac at each major station with dust separator rather than a whole shop rig, so this additional sound suppression is a big deal for me. Thanks again for the review! 👍👍👍

Thanks for all the great videos. I'm buildy my own workshop from scretch this summer/fall, and your videos have been very helpful in the planning process. I was close to buy one of those low pressure, high volume things...... Now I'm waiting for the Dewalt to be available in Norway any decade soon. :-) your channel is great!

I’ve had my 12 ga. for about a year now and I love it. It’s so quiet and it sucks up sawdust wonderfully. I love that it has a bag. So easy to just throw away and replace. No muss, no fuss. Just a great vacuum overall.

I have had mine for almost 2 years. Love it, you can actually talk over it. To be honest, I forget its on since every other tool is so much louder.

I have two Ridgid Smart pulse shop vacs that I keep on my shop floor. One is over 6 years old and gets used almost daily picking up dust from sanding and cutting of wood and metals as well as general cleaning . The filters I change at most once a year. I think I have gone more than 2 years without replacing the filter during covid when we were shut down for a while. They by far are the best vacuums I have ever used. You just have to nock the filters every once and a while to avoid any excess build up in the folds. Also they are assembled in USA.

I've had the 12 gallon for a year and a half. It's quieter than my old standard vacuum and is far quieter than any shop vac I've ever used. I've used it to clean my garage, collect dust, clean my car and pull glitter out of a carpet.

It comes in a 6 gallon, also. I have a 12, 9 and 6 gallon. Safe to say I like them. Rockler just released a rebrand of the same vac as a dust extractor with several new features.

Would you do a video of the new Rockler Extractor?

It's the same motor and housing for the most part. Stanley who owns DeWalt also owns a ton of other tool brands and leases parts and motors between their other brands. So the results are going to be the same as far as noise and performance. But the built in tool activated plug is really nice on the Rockler.

@@rightsidedownstudio oh nice. Good to know. So you think we can use the HEPA filter that comes with the Rockler on this and then the Steathsonic is HEPA compliant?
@rightsidedownstudio

@@Lrr2024 I believe they are the same size but without having my hands on the Rockler I can't be 100% positive. There are a lot of HEPA filters that already fit the DeWalt like this one amzn.to/3MLHpWq

If you want the quietest shop vac just attach a hose to the output and run it outside. I did this with a cheapo and just ran a straight pipe out a hole in the wall and it made a huge difference. Try it as a test and it will surprise you.

Great vacuum, but it gets hotter than hell. Just be mindful of that and dont run it very long without giving it breaks.
@rightsidedownstudio

I did see that on some reddit threads when I was looking into the StealthSonic. Some people even said the cord melted but those comments were from a few years ago so I think they fixed the major issue. I did notice the top was getting warm after about 20 min.

I got this a while ago. You can swap out the casters for better quality ones and you'll be even happier with them. My one complaint is that there's no swivel on the end of those hose. Since it's so short and rigid, that makes it a bit annoying to get in small spots.
@rightsidedownstudio

I agree, at first I liked the hose but after using it a little I cant stand it. DeWalt should really upgrade it.

Is it still as good hooked up to a dust separator?

Yup! it had the same 20% decrease in suction as all the other test vacs did.

Pile of junk. Thermal fuse went out on mine I had to tear it completely down and since it’s in the windings I was left with jumping it as my only option. Only had it for a year and maybe used it 30 times.

There is no way a vacuum can be the best ever if it does two things. Plugs in a wall, and uses bags. End of story. It may be a good vacuum, but cords and bags are the bane of ever shop owner on the planet.
@rightsidedownstudio
Ай бұрын
how many things do you want it to do? Vacuums really only do two things, plug in a wall and suck. It does both of those really well. I agree bags are annoying but most wood workers (which is the vast majority of my audience) use dust separators so the bags never really come into play. I just found it nice that they included them.
