Memories of the sitting on that stick that goes through the matapee and i was not heavy enough so Granny would put my brother and sister to help in the process as I look back I realized life is an absolute blessing and and adventure.. All of the things I've learned as a youth in the rainforest helped me to cope and navigate my life without fear...persons like my mom, uncles and a host of people that took the time to guide me... respect due,! My beautiful Guyana

I work in the jungle for over 10 years its a spiritual place the movie avatar gives the closest description i love it I've seen insects and animals i believe was never recorded before Guyana is beautiful you have to be there to witness it

You know what amazes me is people whose ancestors only arrived in Guyana a few decades ago who declare that it is their country. My ancestors came to Guyana hundreds of years ago. Now I live in Canada and I am a Canadian.

Way back in the early 70s, had the chance to tour Guyana with the group , Sing Out Jamaica…..n my G.C.E. A’ Levels’s Economics teacher was Guyanese…..7 years at an all girls’ H.S. n 1 foine Guyanese male teacher…and of course, the eminent Walter Rodney who contributed to our Caribbean literary works , n to our local Jamaican cultural /political awakening…..Guyana, our ‘adopted’ sister of the West Indies….we include Guyana because it is the only English speaking country on the S.A. Continent…

The process of the casava is not a must that way, in Asia we just boil them or fry them even make chips from it after it dries.

We also do that with 'sweet cassava' however, this is the 'bitter' cassava. A different variety that's poisonous.

They speak the language of the tribe(9 tribes in Guyana) they belong to. English is the official language of Guyana but it isn't the natives first language so some might not speak it.

They speak english. The older folks would stick to their native dialect but english is common in the villages.

The cattles have always been healthy but these days Guyana has been affected by droughts so I would imagine their food mainly grass have diminished it's healthy natural sources of greenery.

Guyana might belong to South America, which is predominantly Latin countries but share different history, culture, language, etc. Plus Guyana 🇬🇾 along with Trinidad, Barbardos, and Jamaica, signed The Treaty of Chaguaramas established the Caribbean Community and Common Market, popularly known as CARICOM It was signed on 4 July 1973 in chaguaramas, Trinidad, and Tobago 🇹🇹. So that's why we often identify as being part of the Caribbean.
