Melissa = bee, ergo = work. Melissourgoi = bee workers/keepers. You should give a visit mount Olympus if you enjoy these kind of places in Greece.

Tzoumerka seems a great place. I haven't been there, I have been to Vikos Gorge und Ioannina. Since I was alone and it was in early April, I thought it's safer to have someone's company when going through Vikos Gorge, so I didnt do it and only went on the mountains, took some photos.😅 Ioannina is really a cute and peaceful small city.

Tzoumerka was really magical for us, we loved every single minute there. (even the hail storm haha) I totally understand you, it's always smart to stay safe in those mountainous regions, the weather is so unpredictable! 😄 We also really liked the vibe of Ioannina, you can see so much of Ottoman influence there, so different from the coastal parts of Greece.

If you like hiking, climbing, rafting, mountain biking,canoe-kayak etc. then the larger Epirus area is the place for you. They also started to develop eco-tourism over the last years. Not only Tzoumerka but also Zagorochoria ( the villages of Zagori), the Vikos national park with the canyon, the city of Ioannina with the lake & Osmanic Castle, the ancient Dodoni amphitheater and oracle/temple, the Souli villages, Arta with the famous, medieval stone bridge and if you want to go to a beach for a swim: the cities of Preveza, Parga and Syvota have some nice beaches at the Ionian Sea. You can also take a ferry to Corfu, Kefalonia or Zakynthos from there easy and do some Ionian Island hopping. And the best part is: it's far less crowded then the Aegean Islands & Athens, during summer. Oh and yes, they do wash their rugs and blankets ( ''velentzes'') in this type of special ''washing machine'', because these ''velentzes'' are made out of thick sheep wool and you can't wash them in normal laundromats. Back in the day, when a daughter got married, their family would make one or several of these ''velentzes'' as a dowry. Some families keep them as family heirlooms, passed down from mother to daughter.

Oh wow!! This is soo interesting. Thank, you for sharing this with us. The washing machine really fascinated me. Next time, we definitely need to go to the Vikos National Park and see other beautiful parts of Greece. We love Greece. Efxaristó 🙏😊

Hellas my friend, not Greece, I understand that it does not make much of a difference to most people but it is crazy that the whole world is calling my country with the wrong name, and that is mostly our goverments fault aswell as ours since most Hellenes call themselves Greeks and the country Greece in English instead of Hellas because that is what Romans used to call us and it just stuck, but the real name is Hellas ... Thank you for your beautifull video and your kind words, I wish every visitor was like you two beautifull people, and I also hope you enjoyed your stay.

Thank you! Ελλάδα is such a beautiful name. 🇬🇷 I totally understand this feeling, but I guess it is quite a common phenomenon (like the case of Germany or China). Btw I noticed that the Turkish and Persian people would call the Greeks as "Ionians", I found that pretty cool.

Unfortunately you are wrong. It is Latin name derived from their first contact with Greek world thousands years ago. It can sound wrong now but it is nothing strange in history...the longer history is the more names there are for places, states and people...

@@ivicaanic5213 No you are wrong, the actual name of todays "Greece" is Hellenic Republic!! How I know?? Because I was born and raised here like my ancestors and WE actually NEVER used "Greece" in any legal activities, like for example the Olympic games or the national football or basketball team or even in the legal ids that we own as Hellenes!! The name was ALWAYS HELLAS, from the first time that was used from Alexander the Great until today. You are wrong unfortunatelly. It's pretty easy to look it up with a simple Google search before you say that a native of a country does not know his\her own history and you know better.

@@ivicaanic5213 And to make it easier to you here is the answer from Google in the question "What is the real name of Greece" "Hellas The ancient and modern name of the country is Hellas or Hellada (Greek: Ελλάς, Ελλάδα; in polytonic: Ἑλλάς, Ἑλλάδα), and its official name is the Hellenic Republic, Helliniki Dimokratia (Ελληνική Δημοκρατία [eliniˈci ðimokraˈti." How do you feel now?? Do you feel smarter?? You are welcome

@@pelopidasalexis6943 Actual name is fine too. But you are the one assuming that one exonym, that is historically used for thousand of years and that indeed has Greek origin is wrong. There is no black and white, correct and wrong in history. The more backward we go names and meanings get more blurred. In past Hellens originally were only one of many ancestral tribes like Greeks too. In short Greece term in english is perfectly ok from historical or cultural perspective.
