That Tyler kid is hella good on his feet sure his bottom game could be worked on but like he will learn try encouraging the kid to do better and telling him what he did wrong besides seen you sat there with your head in the mat there are some wrestlers who use their heads as a post you literally never know the kids so young he doesn’t even know was on technique yet take it easy on him he’ll be something great Some day...

Thank you for being so committed to this sport. These kids dont know it now, but what they are going through now will mold their mindset for the rest of their lives. Each lesson they learn on the mat will be used off the mat. They are lucky to have a coach like you. -Teaching kids to take risks and get better now is SO IMPORTANT. So many kids peak in middle school because when they get to high school their bag of tools is just hip throws and cradles. Those will only let you beat scrubs and even scrubs in high school can defend those moves. Ive seen some of the best middle school wrestlers get into high school and never see a varsity match because of this exactly. Develop that bag of tools!!! Also Jason is going to be a stud, the kids mindset is beyond his years. Big Fan

Tyler at 5:36 is why I started taking BJJ classes with my 6 yr old son. Lead by example. It also gives a new perspective to parents (like me) who never wrestled and don’t have a true appreciation for just how hard grappling is and can’t understand the range of emotions you experience in a match.
@buzzkillington5270

Nothing against Mike either. I don’t know what he’s done in athletics and I also understand the amount of personal sacrifice required to have your kid wrestling at that level. Tyler will understand and appreciate that side of it someday too

It’s the crying during a match that I can’t stand. If you are hurt ok I get that, but to cry because you lose to a better kid or crying because some scores a point on you in the first period & you stop wresting because of it, drives me crazy! If you shake hands get off the mat & go cry in the corner fine, don’t make a spectacle of it. Rant over
@buzzkillington5270

@@MC-yy7lo I didn’t mean any disrespect at all. I can assure you that being physically dominated in grappling by another person sucks, even as a 34 year old white belt with no audience and nobody expecting you to do well. I can only imagine a similar experience to a kid, especially while being on a reality show, would be very stressful. Again, no disrespect. I love the show and I think you guys are doing a wonderful job developing these boys into physically and emotionally tough young men. Keep up the good work

Ty scored the 4 points from a position he was far more comfortable and dominant in. Just shows that his bottom game needs a lot more work and his opponent was tough on top, yeah. But not tough enough to get full control to turn Tyler. Not only that, as tough as that kid was, he got taken down and gave up 4 points. Give Tyler some credit man ffs

Near Fall (back points/exposure) = 2 Pts. When the bottom wrestler has his back exposed to the mat on an angle of 45 degrees or less for a count of at least 2 seconds, but less than 5 seconds, a 2 Pt. near fall is scored... If you watch the vid on Xavier's channel you can see there was maybe one time he was exposed for even 1 second at 45 degrees. He was pretty quick on making sure he wasn't giving up back points. Definitely close call though.
