It's easy to forget these guys are highly skilled Infantry soldiers and may have just come back from some war torn country. They will then be expected to immediately switch to their ceremonial duties and their drill has to be impeccable. Only the British can do pomp & ceremony like this. So proud to be British. Long live the King.

Hi Delvin, nice to catch up again! I’ve been absent a while but am gearing up to attend this in 2weeks time for the first time in my life! Did you notice the return of your favourite DM? Haven’t seen him in a good while but I saw a Drum Majors practice for the Trooping some weeks back where only 4were taking part & I figured he was going to be the one to fill the vacant spot😌 So now I can feel slightly smug🤭 Hope you are well, and thank you for the listing again😎

Hello again Delvin, just wondering if you've seen a video posted by a SANJB titled "The State Ceremonial Musicians of the Household Division-Rehearsal" ? They play this year's composition for Trooping the colour quick march, it's rather splendid🥰

@@AnnofWales21 Hellooooo Ann! So wonderful to see you back! Hope you're keeping well! Wishing you safe travels, and of course I hope you enjoy yourself! Yes, ASDM Fitzgerald has returned, he does spend a lot of time away! So it's always spiffing to see him lead the Bands! As always it's my pleasure to provide the marches! I'm doing great! Thanks for asking! Just preparing myself for more march listings haha! The new quick march is wonderful! I sadly can't reveal anything about it just just yet. Don't want to get in trouble!

What a fabulous video, I’m so glad you were there to record it. The sound is superb (I’ll admit I have it blasting through headphones🤓) When you consider this is termed a practice for the rehearsals (1st and 8th June) of the main event (15th June) they already sound perfect! The video also captures the sound of the marching feet and that in itself is something wondrous! Then of course the pipes, don’t they just add that something extra special. I enjoyed all the marches played here and will single out that bit at 11:47 where the band revs up and puts the after burners on in “The King’s Guard”😍 Thank you for sharing👍

This was obviously a special occasion - and all those seats waiting to be filled at the end - so what was the occasion ? I'm a Brit watching from the US - lost track of what happens when in the calendar ! You tend to forget how many of them there are in these brigades as we tend to see them only when they are doing guard duty !

Hi It was a rehersal session for The Trooping of The Colour which is on the 15th of June . They will be in full dress uniform on that day and will be joined by The Household Cavalry .I might get lucky and see the cavalry rehersal too - nothing more stirring than seeing the Household calvary ride down The Mall in full dress uniform 👍
