This was in Paradiso, Amsterdam. And I was there, 23 years old. Great gig.

Great times, smoking inside, beer, good place! Sadly when the management changed, Paradiso became a multiculti place with an emphasis on afro, and the fun was gone.

@@alexfenton229 Well, the Gun Club was kinda difficult. But it's not about this specific group. The Dead Kennedys, Birthday Party, Pixies, Smashing Pumpkins...The atmosphere was extremely cool. Ever been there in the 80/90'?

@@robbertvanoosten2530 I've sadly never been to Amsterdam in my 51 years! But I will!! I started going to gigs and clubs in 88-89 then joined the free party Festival scene. It was a time when people didn't care what clothes were on and thank GOD, no camera phones out in everyone's faces😵💫

Sometimes the crowd might be intently listening. Sometimes they might be blown away. Not jumping around does not equate necessarily to lame. I've been to many shows where the lame asses jumping around ruined the show for others.

This was recorded in Amsterdam, Holland. In the early eighties we were amidst the cold war and the general attitude in Holland was fuck it.The bomb can be here any minute now. Also the economy was bad at that time. Alot of young people couldn't find a decent job back then. All of this might probably explain their lethargic appearence, wich i find a kinda cool really ^

Kees Melle Interesting, plausible. But it could be that they’d seen many angry young men fronting bands and weren’t impressed. I love the Gun Club but not all the live performances were good. When Jeffrey’s voice could be heard well, the songs could be mesmerizing. I guess I also prefer the medium tempo songs and the broody ballads of his the most.

@cordedpoodle You aint kidding. I went to the Gary Numan concert a few months back (yeah, I know, Gary Numan. What can I say, my boyfriend digs him and I have thie secret love for the album Replica's) and this weirdo couple standing infront of us totally ruined the concert with their lame here 'n' there dance moves and constant jumping. They even (accidentally) whacked this poor girl in the face whilst jiving. Unless it's in the pit, i'd rather a mellow audience.
