Nice! I'm posting *recipe at bottom* for others (hint, hint...) Hopefully constructive comments: (a) music gets annoying fast :-) (b) post recipe! I had to re-watch marinade section 3-4 times to write it down (c) fix spelling of "oilive" oil, what is "1 lemon juice"? - juice of 1 lemon or are units missing?, how much chicken? and what liquid & how much are you adding to the rice? To misquote Yoda: "Do, or do not. There is no 'well, that's most-of-it'" If you're bothering to film and title it, get that last 10% in! >;-) Of the 20,000 views so far, I bet at least a few others who may've tried to cook this would've benefited too... (It's really nice when at the end you post a shot with the ingredient list and shorthand recipe for people to freeze the playback and write it down, or take a screenshot.) NYC Halal Street Cart Chicken Sauce: 2 tsp yogurt / 3 tsp mayo / 2 Tbsp lemon juice / salt + pepper -- mix all Chix marinade: 1/4 c olive oil / juice of 1 lemon (?) / 4 cloves garlic, chopped / 1 tsp dried oregano / 2 tsp ground coriander / 1.5 tsp salt. Toss w/ chix (HOW MUCH?) and marinate for min of 15m. Saute' chix in oil until browned, remove. Add to pan 2 Tbsp butter, 1 tsp cumin, 1.5 tsp turmeric, 1/2 tsp salt. Add 2 c basmati rice and cook/stir for a bit. Add 2 cups (?!?!?!) of what looks like chicken stock (!?!?!); scrape up brown bits. Bring to boil & cook covered for 15m. Slice/chop up chix, serve over rice, drizzle w/ sauce.

I think you outdid them! The rice with all that flavor is hard to do in a food cart with their kind of volume. but you need the red hot sauce they have!

I'm thinking about using some salsa picante for the red sauce

How much liquid went into the rice? My opinion is 4 cups of liquid. I prefer to use chicken stock. That big glass measuring cup was full of liquid, and looked alot more than just 2 cups. If you google long grain rice to water ratio, it suggest 2 cups liquid to 1 cup rice. I have also cooked long grain rice with a 1 to 1.5 ratio. But for me it ends up too dry. So my personal favorite is 2 to 1 ratio.. Also after cooking rice for 15 minutes, and turning off heat, I like to let my rice sit for 10 more minutes before I remove the top. All of what I have said, is my opinion my personal preference and best guess. Good luck

Hi Jon, at 3:07 was that 2 cups of water or chicken stock that you poured over the basmati rice?

I'm not sure what he uses, but I make this at home with an almost identical recipe and I use 2 1/2 cups chicken broth and it comes out slammin =)

Thanks for the response Vinny. I've been making it based on the directions from the video ''NYC Street Cart Style Chicken & Rice'' which includes the directions to make the white sauce, chicken and the rice too. That recipe calls for 2 cups of chicken stock and it turns out great. I'm hooked I can't stop eating this stuff !!
