Chris…filet one of the Herring, and put a Herring strip on the hook under the hoochie…I do pretty well on the Salmon off Bodega with that rig..it should produce for Halibut…the Herring needs to be brined first, since they’re too soft to last very long on the hook if they’re not brined

We do same thing but magic thread the fillet to the side of the swim bait works great

Great video , love how your not afraid to try new techniques all the time seems to work really well for you . I was contemplating rolling a large brads cut plug for Hallie’s Sunday . I have lots of river salmon gear collecting dust. Curious if you have tried it , am I wasting time with it? Also how do manage to get such great conditions out there all the time, every time I go it’s the damn Bering sea out ther😂, good luck on your next trip , looking forward to your next video

have you ever used down riggers to troll those big flashers? I've only ever trolled with a big sinker like in your video but I think without It the fight may be better. id like to see someone try that. great video, thanks

I think it could work if you were familiar with the water you were fishing. But overall easier to the find the bottom I am guess with weights on the line. Thanks for watching

@@ChrisPfish2 They look awesome!!! I contacted them, and I'm hoping they can get me an adapter for scotty mounts. I already have those all over the boat. I would hate to retool. If you have any influence on them, let them know that I'm pretty sure many of us would be interested in the rod holders, but already have mounts on the boats. Let's see where this goes.
