This scene broke me...beth was such underatted character. And poor Sienna, she didn't want to die..

I really loved Beth since Jazebels with Nick. I must admit that she had a "good" and courageous death instead of Alma.

I was sort of secretly hoping that she'd jump herself so June didn't have to be that deciding factor. Or that they'd just sort of nod to each other and then June would push her over. Beth was so cool

I felt like this whole torture episode was kind of insulting. Like they should've had her go through this insane amount of torture instead of having her lie about where they were. I would've loved to see her stay strong through all of that and have a huge backing of inner strength before showing how her strength evaporates when she sees Hannah. Instead I feel like it was cut super short and her friends died for nothing because like 2 seconds later they break her anyway.

Awful how they use the bible...they just turn it upside dow and never tell about grace, forgiveness, mercy....or the most important: " you dont need to pay for any guilt- jesus paid it all"...thats not christianity!

@Lynne Hughes gilead is presenting God as a "mean distant revenge- God" ...they're always trying to please him in this sick way " we have to pay to please him"...and they do whats the opposite of love: killing, brutality...and tell that this is mercy of God....I can't hardly bear that stuff cause God isn't like that...I'm concerned about the people who watch this show thinking " yeah- thats why I will never go to church or believe in god!"... but the thing is: God is good and Jesus paid for all sins! But I know: it's a TV show;-)

@@sunshinegirl5229 I think it's sort of the point. Like they are trying to justify a man's higher power place in this world and make it seem okay. Like that one guy on tlc who wanted a sister wife and didn't care about his wife's feelings about it because he told her God told him he needed to have another wife. I think that this is the men of Gileads way of getting power and making it seem okay so that their wives agree, and in return the women get what they wanted, children, at their own and other women's expense

As a christian, I totally agree and there could be a whole, quite long video (and even more than one), to analyze it deeply how each time they do this in every season.I also believe that I'm happier to practice my faith, if the political power is more of free of ideologies (my birthcountry is not one). I was just wondering, how other christians must feel about it... Awful to watch for me and how they do it in Gilead, how they are riping things out of context AND DEFINETLY NOT puting the gospel in the center. As christian I learnt to have an opinion on things God loves, what he doesn't, but that's for my own conscience, and I am also not allowed to judge others. Neither would I force the values on anyone (I believe forcing is not christianity anyway). I even leave it on everyone, what they do or choose to do, I'm highly tolerant, and when this topic comes up, I'm only informational, but never judgemental or demanding. I can talk about faith, but that's mine and I would never demand from anyone to have something I know is a gift. Either given or not. And torturing, killing people, blackmail... This is just crazy, but not the faith in christians God. Seems they believe God has favourites to forgive them ANYTHING (damn, some of my countries politicans reminds me on this). I even understand why one character did rather want abortion (though I couldn't do it), because it feels like not my business and the situation was difficult, and she has the right to believe in whatever she wants to. Because as christian I know, that not everyone is christian, and not everyone will become one, and people won't AND CAN'T do others than how their own personal belief works with their PERSONAL point of view. Faith in Christ is simply not given to everyone BUT make no mistakes: Gilead is not faith in Christ. And this, their world and how Gilead was created here by the politicians: insane.

And if she'd done absolutely nothing then they all would have ended up in the colonies, anyway. Why does everybody keep blaming June for the evil of Gilead? As somebody in season 4 recently said, 'Better to die on your feet than to live on your knees.'

June never forced anyone. Beth was already a member of Mayday before meeting June and Sienna has always been kept away from conversations, it was she who wanted to be in the secret. In addition, each person made their decision to help June and stay with her to fight to get the plane to take off. I find it so easy to blame June. She decided to act against the system, people decided to follow her and even took initiatives when she did not want to involve them. If they die in the end, so what? They were all doomed anyway given the situation in Gilead. At least they died making choices, not suffering without doing anything.
