Well, you’re right, but if Lucy Gray ran away, how could her children come back to District 12? We don’t even know if she’s dead or not. I think Maude Ivory passed the song down because she only needed to hear something once to remember it, and Katniss was one of the only people who knew about that lake after her father told her. This version is more of a ballad than the original. Sounds very nostalgic, like I’ve been in the past. When reading the book and listening to this, I can feel Lucy’s loneliness so much. It’s like she’s dealing with heartbreak and feeling of loss, but she knows she must face it no matter what. Tho in the original, it sounds more of a dark folk song where Lucy expresses angst. She had a hard life and still needs to fight for it to survive. Her soul is good but she must do terrible things to stop her sufferings. Both versions show how strong Lucy is, as a person. Great job to both Maiah and Rachel! ✨✨✨

This is the official version now, byeee Also something that I love about this is how it is an actual "song" so to speak. In a way that it was written by one person to be performed. How you look really is quite like how I imagine Lucy Gray would look while I was reading the book, as well as your mannerism. Dreamy, a little Bohemian but not innocent (because admit it she is not). Like you always have something hidden behind the façade. Maybe your charm is just as dangerous as anyone else’s weapon. Those are the vibes I get from Lucy Gray’s character anyway. The singing is also great, as it feels very Lucy Gray Baird and very ballady.
