Among frozen desolate buildings that seem to come out of a Game of Thrones episode, we got to see the summit of Ben Nevis.
I'll be honest, I never saw the appeal of climbing this mountain, until I saw a picture of the Carn Mor Dearg arete (debatably the hardest route up Ben Nevis) in winter - the appeal was instantly there.
We only managed to get there in early December, and instead of the snow I was expecting, there was a thick layer of fog covering the mountain that cut all visibility.
The rocks were covered in a thin layer of ice, navigation was a nightmare, and we loved every minute of it!
This is the first time climbing in the Scottish Highlands, and it won't be the last. Scotland, ya beautiful!
