March 2, 1986 - Lucille Ball calls Desi Arnaz to wish him a happy birthday. Desi informs Lucy that he has an aggressive form of lung cancer. Lucy is devastated.
August 1986: Lucy is informed that she will be honored in Washington DC for the Kennedy Center Honors. Lucy laments that Desi should have been honored with her.
Desi forgoes further treatment for his lung cancer. He will die soon.
September 20, 1986: Lucy's new show Life With Lucy premieres. This will be the highest rated episode. The ratings will plummet as the weeks go on. Desi tells Lucy that he wishes he wasn't so sick so that he could help the show.
November 15, 1986: Life With Lucy is cancelled.
November 26, 1986: Lucy visits Desi in person for the last time.
November 30, 1986: Lucy and Desi's 46th wedding anniversary. They speak for the very last time. Their final words to each other are, "I love you." Desi shortly after falls into a coma.
December 2, 1986: At 12:05am, Desi Arnaz dies in his daughter, Lucie's arms.
December 4, 1986: Lucy attends Desi's funeral before flying out to Washington DC for the weekend.
December 7, 1986: The Kennedy Center Awards broadcast is filmed. Lucy is honored. Robert Stack comes out on stage to read a letter to Lucy that Desi had written prior to his passing.
