Early 60's and maybe a bit before, my dad had their albums I think this was one of them. Later, my mom and dad were real estate brokers and one of their agents, Dan Bylina, told me that he had once subbed for Al Fiore on the chord harmonica when Al was out sick. He had his chord harmonica with him and played "Peg o' My Heart" on it for me. Good old days. That would have been in the late 80's. Dan passed in 2001.

Back in the '50s, I had this as a 78, and its title was "Harmonicats' Boogie." The flip side was "Hey Kissadeech." (I think I might have the spelling wrong.) This is a real find! I lost the original about 20 years ago, and I still kick myself. Ron Prestia

This Recording actually is called Harmonica Blues, Not Harmonica boogie. I think it was first released in 1947 the same year that the Cats released Peg O' My Heart.

I like it! I like it a lot! But these days people would rather listen to Millie B "diss" some other grotty slag. 🙄. Thanks for posting this!

Bob Olivia This is the Cats Blues. It is a misprint record. I have it in my collection. The original Harmonicats Boogie was recorded in 1947 on VitAcoustic records. This song was recorded in 1948 on Mercury. My chord teacher is one of three living harmonicats left, and she agrees. This is NOT Harmonica Boogie but Harmonicats Blues

AJ Windmeyer I actually take that back, this song was recorded in 1947 (December) for a Chicago radio station in celebration of Peg O' My Heart reaching No. 1. on the top 40 list. It was marketed as "Record Banned" blues. The 1948 year the cats signed onto Universal (who bought out VitAcoustic when they went bankrupt) and recorded it.
