I don´t think the problem is that it was female centric but the lack of emotion of the final relashionship was a turn off. When you lose a person a bit each day (like in dementia) you lose yourself as well and here there was a detachment from the condition you do not see in real life. Plus there was too much exposition instead of demonstration of affection. The best relationship is the one of Hannah and the cook. Their characters where very well written (mainly Hannah´s) and the acting was superb. The gardener was a very shallow character and it showed in the end. I prefer The Innocents a lot for it´s awesome writting that even at the end makes you ask yourself if what you and the characters saw was real. Here it was gothic romance badly executed in a ghostly setting... nothing more.

I liked Bly Manor, but I think that Hill House was so good that Bly had a lot to meet or beat. That said, the child actors, especially the one who portrayed Miles, did such an outstanding job. I thought he really brought it. In fact, I liked all of the living characters a lot. Well, mostly living anyway. I honestly can't decide which one I liked best, though the chef is the one I see myself hanging out with the most. You know, eating good food and swapping puns. The ghosts, minus one, were less interesting. An entire episode was dedicated to that one interesting ghost and it was such a luscious story. Also, again with that exception, I didn't feel any real menace from the ghosts of Bly Manor. The ones from Hill House were threatening and creepy. All in all, I would give it about 3.5/5 stars, where Hill House had a much more respectable 4.75/5.

It's an anthology series, like American Horror Story, each season is a different story with different characters, some actors returns, some change

I’m sorry Grace, I love you but the stuttering at 15:02 has me in tears. I needed that after watching this show

Personally not a fan of horror content but watched to support Grace and I always like to hear her thoughts on things.

This wasn’t what I thought it would be. Thought it would be a sci fi channel story. Turned out to be a lifetime story.

An absolute bag of box-ticking shite. I couldn't stop counting how many box had been ticked per episode I forgot the plot.

As a Brit I can confirm that the British accents done by Carla and Henry are almost unwatchable haha. Henry's was actually better than Carla's but about 100 years too late for the 1980s (which I guess could just about work for the character) but Carla's vaguely Northern accent was horrific...I'm just glad she didn't narrate the entire show! We forgive you though Carla as you're just that amazing :)
