I think nerves got to him, he had so much hype from Australia it must have been nuts. NFL is success in short bursts and he played bad his first game, not good when there is crazy amounts of money involved, plus he didn't really fit the mold. Was a good experiment, hands down any NFL player would get smoked in NRLeague or NRUnion. 80 minutes of constant gameplay trying to break the enemy wall is a very different game. Would love to see Allstar NRL vs NFL though, would be so interesting

@rentedguccimink1948
8 жыл бұрын
+Stokie09123 Lol no. Rugby is in no way shape or form a more technically skilled game. If it was that easy, Hayne wouldn't have had so much trouble picking up regular blocking assignments. That's not to even mention blocking schemes for the blitz which even fool people that have been playing American Football their entire life. Or learning receiver routes for when he has to catch a pass or his hot routes out of the backfield when the blitz is coming and the QB needs to throw for a short gain. Rugby strategy is mostly just running forward and waiting to be tackled, outside of the occasional set play or strategic kick. I guess you'd see more strategy in League than Union because of the rules, but that's not saying much compared to what they are doing in the NFL.

As a English rugby league fan, who watches a lot of the NRL games, I hope he makes the cut, he seems to have done well from the clips, he was a class rugby league player

Also how much would he earn per year if he makes the cut, just wondering
@Jez4prez1

+Orion Is that $36k per week over 52 weeks? Or only during season? Basically, what is the yearly figure? If it's over 52 weeks, then once adjusted for exchange rates, it's close enough to $2.5 million AUD. That's a big pay rise over what he was previously earning back in Aus.

+Jez4prez1 Apparently with his salary, sponsorship and merchandise deal he's going to make around 12 million. Which is about what he'd have made in his entire NRL career lol. Such a shame, I want the top athletes to come into rugby league rather than leave it all the time.

Ariel Wainzinger I'm well aware that it's a good business decision I already pretty much said that when I said he'd make more in one year of NFL than his entire career. However I disagree with the end of your comment. He's been absolutely shit, so shit they've dropped him and he's already looking for another franchise for next season because it's unlikely they'll offer him a new contract. He can't read the plays, he can't block, he keeps switching hands which leads to fumbles and he still runs too high to have any success at RB. He's a good runner, he was always going to do well returning kicks that doesn't show NFL is a joke, kick returns are barely even relevant to the result of a game and the fact it's the only thing he can do shows how in over his head he is.

I remember when I first saw Hayne as a youngster in the NRL. I knew straight away this was a kid extraordinaire. His last year in the State of Origin series, in the first match, he was the difference, and it was incredibly tough match - it was soon after that he made his move to leave NRL and it was a shock. But he has that something, the ability to do things that makes you gasp in amazement. If he bring that to NFL successfully, know for sure you Yamkees. you will have a superstar. This guy can make play look like a hypnotic dance.

+BounceTo TheBeat he is going to rugby in europe or Japan , MAYBE back to NRL but depends on which club still has salary cap room left . This whole olympics thing is just a PR excuse so the 49ers dont look bad and Hayne is spared the indignity of being cut , knew he wouldn't make the 53 this season with the draft picks and RB's they resigned from last year.

Fumbled at least 3 times, and twice gave up blocks that got QB hit. I’m a fan of Hayne and wanted him to be successful but like I said nfl is ruthless. 49ers were worse team in the league at that time so maybe should of let him have more time. He left himself to play rugby for Fiji but he knew the writing was on the wall
