The Villages of Derwent and Ashopton now exist underwater, leading them to be known as the drowned villages in the Peak District. For years they have lived under water at Ladybower Reservoir but a recent drought and low levels have left them exposed for the first time in nearly a century.
This video gets up close and personal with the drowned villages, which breathe again today. Albeit, the village exists only as ruins - but it is still fascinating to see historic brick and mortar in an old English village.
