Well of course! Some of these guys seem like they're practicing their upper register. You won't get up there by regular rehearsals, just like you're not going to practice how to double or triple tongue during a performance. If you're spending your rehearsal on range, you'll be focusing on your lower register to warm up and then moving towards upper mainly hitting those notes for extended periods of time just like if you're focusing on technique/articulation you'll be doing whatever exercises you've been taught to work on.

Players who can ACTUALLY play (and not just squeak) above double C is already a very short list...but to be able to pick notes up to triple C out of thin air with crystal clear attacks right on the pitch like Rashawn Ross does at the very end, is really spectacular. Not to mention he played them SOFT...and I don't mean "soft and thin because you can barely get the note out" soft. It sounded effortless. That's actual mastery of that register.

If you haven't, check out the Monkees tune - yes, the Monkees - "Goin' Down," which features a screamer of a trumpet solo by Bud Brisbois, whose notes are most worthy of inclusion in these two "Highest Notes on Trumpet" compilations. ...
