This was a refreshing story for me. I do enjoy historical fiction, but the romance department has pretty much been Cinderella after Cinderella. It was interesting to read from a poor man's perspective for once. I know there was money involved, but it was still a nice change from the cookie cutter set. Also, I greatly enjoyed the narrator's ability to bring the characters to life. Thank you for all of your hard work.

What an absolutely captivating, fun, sad, and "happy ending" story!!! I enjoyed listening to it so much as I worked in my garden. It was wonderful how they were able to forgive each other and move on with love and peace in their hearts. (all but one that is!) Thank you for this awesome story and for the others I've listened to. I'm sad to leave the Highwayman but look forward to another of your well written stories!

It’s so rare to fall in love with all the characters but even the “villains” were funny in this one. So many chuckles, even in mixed company. 😂Thank you for sharing.

Now that's a quality historical romance! Both a diverting story and the opportunity to learn something! The information about the injustice of the postal system added to the dimensions of the story.

I love how you take time to weave real class problems in your Regency romances ! It really sets your books apart from a genre that can be quite repetitive after a while. This one in particular was so fun to listen to, with the adventure and secrets, and the two of them had great chemistry and banter ! You're definitely my favourite historical romance writer 😁 and the narrator was amazing ! I love how she incorporates sighs and coughs, she really brings the characters to life 🥰

Another enjoyable story with plenty of historical detail. However, I'm curious as to why the highwayman is referred to as a paladin, when a paladin was considered "a paragon of chivalry; a heroic champion"? Those two seem quite at odds with each other, as a true paladin would not be a thief. 🫤
@AuthorMarthaKeyes

Thank you so much for listening! The nickname "the Paladin" is meant to be somewhat ironic. He's viewed as chivalrous amongst highwayman, as he is not violent in his methods but shows restraint and charm. But obviously, he is still working outside the law. Hopefully that helps clarify!

I have taken the title Paladin with a huge tongue in cheek reference.
