Great work on this series! Castlevania is one of my favourites of all time and I appreciate the inclusion of Bloodstained. Koji Igarashi and his team did such a good job on that trilogy after Konami seemed to give up on Castlevania, one of their most important series. I love the fact that Igarashi even hired the composer, many programmers and even some of the original voice actors from Symphony of the Night in the Japanese and English versions just to give Konami a well deserved middle finger.

1990, my brother and I asked two Nes cartridges to our dad as Christmas gift. I specifically asked for Double Dragon 2, but my little brother asked for “any game”. Then Chrismas came and we received DD 2 (for myself) and my bro received Castlevania 3 Dracula’s Curse. We didn’t know anything about it, so we didn’t know what to expect once inserted the cartridge. BOY OH BOY we went into a ride!!!! We asked dad how did he know such a good game and he answered: “I did not. I only choose it for its cover, it is very cool!”. God almighty, from that day until today, Castlevania has been my favorite to- go series.

No need to go to Japan. I actually played Castlevania The Arcade over at Galloping Ghost Arcade over in Chicago. If you ever go to Chicago check that arcade place out. You will love it they have over hundreds of arcade machines. Also you forgot two other Castlevania games. Castlevania Harmony of Despair which is a multiplayer game and Castlevania Grimoire of Souls is another mobile game that came out last year. I do agree that Konami needs to get their heads out of their butts and bring out another Castlevania game. Would like to see it based on the battle of 1999. I met Koji Igarashi a few years ago and he said he would have love to do it but things didn't go well with him and Konami.

That was a great series of reviews. Im slowly trying to get through all the games myself for the past few years. But I have to point out that you missed "Harmony of Despair" for PS3 and Xbox360. Even though its a spin-off, it is the last Castlevania game designed by Igarashi, and a fun multiplayer dungeon crawler that mashes together Levels and Characters from across the whole series.

@@originalsleepyjon Yep, its great with friends, and the PS3 Version even has local Coop mode, its just kind of lame with randoms online. Everyone tends to use either a maxed out Soma or Alucard and speedruns and steamrolls the whole level in no time. The online servers are still up and running, at least in the PS3 version, wich is also playable on PS4 if you have PSnow, but sadly the DLCs dont work there.

As a backer of Bloodstained I am so glad that it came out. There was a curiosity of a game not in your series. Castlevania: Harmony of Despair, a PS3 and Xbox 360 only release, I believe. It's story is that a Grimoire, a magical book somehow intertwines several different characters and monsters from iterations of the story. Level based, loot dropping gameplay with online multiplayer and each level is an isolated level with a 30 minute time. Some old levels, some new, some retro levels. I played it for hundreds of hours. While I loved it, it had its shortcomings. It feel like it was ahead of its time, released today, and in a free to play market, I feel like it would still be alive today.

It's like old games in the Atari 2600, at the time I really enjoyed them as well

You completely omitted Castlevania: Harmony of Despair which was released in 2010 for PS3 & Xbox 360. I’ve also never heard the word ‘prevalent’ pronounced as ‘prelavant.’ Otherwise, good series of videos.

You are right, completely missed it.. I thought something might fall to through the cracks with the sheer amount of games I was dealing with. Sorry about that, perhaps I'll do an add on video

I dont remember seeing Grimoire of Souls the android game that came out last year and got discontinued in September.. It was pretty good. I was hoping they were just going to leave it up and not do anything like the weekly missions... But nope . Like it never existed...
