They were never alongside Warrant and Bon Jovi; they preceded and dusted those bands. Their pitfall was trying to change musically to stay current when rock devolved in to 90s trash, and then dissolved as rock all but disappeared, and has remained so since around '00.

The focus of this video is all wrong. It wasn't about money, record sales, etc. Steve Clark's death was reported as an inconvenience but he was like a brother to them & the only reason they chose to stay together & record 'Adrenalize' was to honour their commitment to Steve. If you don't believe me, read Phil's book 'Adrenalized'!
@jeffsmart5153
6 жыл бұрын
I've heard lead vocalist Joe Elliott quote, "We didn't give a damn about the band, Steve is our friend." They tried to help Steve as much as they could, not for the bands sake but for their friend. The band has always completely refused to compare Steve and Viv, which is brilliant.
@willbink
6 жыл бұрын
They even mentioned about how they had a few of Steve's guitar parts already recorded and all of his singing done. I believe phil said it felt like it was their duty to finish Adrenalize to honor the late friend Steve Clark's passing.
@shaunz1991

I thought Adrenalize sold 10 Million copies during its run. And yea they mention Warrant and Bon Jovi in relation to Pyromania but it was during the Hysteria era these bands saw their biggest success. Pyromania set the standard before the 1980s rock scene fully matured.
@storm4743
7 жыл бұрын
yes very true and also Def Leppard sold more records in that time then when Bon Jovi was around they shit all over Bon Jovi for a start and hysteria sold over 20 Million copies 5 million Behind MJ bad album and Pryomania sold just over 10 Million copies 2nd behind MJ Thriller ... I will say this Def Leppard is still kicking ASS their new Album def leppard went to number 1 in 2016 ..... Def Leppard are the Kings off HARD ROCK

Hands down my favorite band of all time. When they’re song’s finally released on ITunes I immediately spent at least $35 on a lot of there songs. That’s more money than what I spent on Michael Jackson’s songs on ITunes and we all know he’s the best of the best when it comes to music. Ahh the memories of listening to these classic hits.
