Simple lines and a beautiful silhouette are what makes a design eternal.

Again another fascinating video. The ending was a bit abrupt though.

Now I know why so many Chinese KZitem channels featuring rural life often have a “kang” in their homes. It always had appeared to be an awkward structure and a poor use of space. Thanks again for your help in understanding Chinese culture. Now, if you’ll explain why many kitchens are unheated or separate from the living quarters, I would appreciate it.

Probably the same reason your tent is further away from your cooking area when you camp. To keep the critters away

The most fascinating thing is we think chairs are Western designs when they were made exceptionally well by the Easterners!

a good replica still fetch 5000 euro+ per chair: and you cant buy it if it is real Huanghuali and ship to the US/EU due to CITES Someone offered me a deal for the dinning my parents have for 30K and we bought it for 1.5K about 20 years ago. And he does not want the house but the dinning set

Are the word Chairman from Chinese origin?
@YushangChen
2 жыл бұрын
I don't think so, the "Chairman" dierctly in Chinese is "Matman", means the most inportant man on the mat. You may noticed the Chinese start change thier sitting way since 9th Century, before that they sit on the mat, but the word keep to use till today.

Millennial will disagree that the chair is not old fashion. The chair design tho tells a looong story..
