The story of St Ethelburga's Convent in Deal is quite a fascinating one. It all began with an amazing lady called Catherine Impet Boys who created an orphanage in Middle Street, Deal, which is now known as Queen Anne House. Catherine’s hard work eventually led to Deal’s convent, and gave Deal St Mary’s Catholic Primary School. This talk was written and performed by Sharon Powell and was performed at one of The History Project’s community history nights at the Astor Theatre in Deal.
