In 1071 the Roman armies suffered a decisive defeat against the seljuk Turk's, the Turks then took Armenia, threatening Anatolia, yet the loss of Anatolia was not obvious, in fact the Turks only asked for the territories of Antioch, Edessa and Theodosiopolis, paying little attention to Anatolia, it was the refusal on the part of the Byzantines to make peace coupled with the internal civil war and new military defeats against the Turks and the Normans which precipitated the loss of Anatolia. The region was then devastated by various massacres and raids as was customary at the time, the Greek population of central Anatolia then fled to the north, south and west, leaving a center (Cappadocia) emptied or almost of its inhabitants and a devastated region with many razed towns. The Turkish population then took advantage of the power vacuum and settled there, converting the premises. The crusades in 1091 came to change the situation, in fact they allowed the Empire to recover all the coasts of Anatolia, and around 1170 the opportunity to recover all of Anatolia presented itself to Emperor Manuel, but the latter had already allocated far too many resources in attempts to conquer Egypt, Italy, veins. So when this opportunity presented itself one last time in 1176 during the battle of Myriokephalon he lost and with it any possibility of reconquest of the peninsula, and began a process of Byzantine decline in the region.

I would also like to apologize for the graphic quality I saw too big and my editing software...free...did not follow, on the first part of the video, it is nevertheless readable and I I wasn't going to throw 6 hours of work in the trash anyway!

This video contain mistake :
- The Batlle of Myriokephalon was in 1076 and not 1071 like it show :/
- John III Laskaris take power 3 years earlier
- Romanos took the Major Syrian town of Manbij(Hierapolis) in 1068 from Seljuk Aleppo which was then lost to the Seljuks in 1075.
-Thebasion which is located to the west of Dorylaeum is taken in 1231 by a Turkish tribe, it is the future Ottoman capital until 1326.
- (Report any obvious mistake)
