Did you own a Wii? What was your favourite game for it? and is there a series from the console that you'd like to see brought back?

The wii is the only console offering anything different than anything since gaming was invented. For that reason its the only console I go back to. You can pick up a sensor bar that plugs into your TV and dolphin is probably the best emulator ever. Grab some texture packs and play in 4k and you have an up to date experience with unique gameplay. I wish the form factor became somewhat of a standard even if it was just for pc. Feels like a lost opportunity to have something different. Dual analogue is aids a lot of the time. Bring back the wiimote let's do this.

"There were dozens of titles that were (shovelware) for every one that was worthwhile." BS! First off, no console in history ever suffered from shovelware more than the PS2. Second, there were less than 1400 physical releases on Wii. Over 600 of them are worth having (not including games for young kids). That's not "dozens" to one. And what does it matter? No one forces you to buy the bad titles for the X360, PS3 or Wii. So why even mention that? 🙄🙄 You gamerboys really don't get it when it comes to the Wii and why it was successful. It wasn't "casual gamers" who bought it, it was exergamers. That's why Just Dance 2016 sold over 1 million on the Wii YEARS after the Wii U had been introduced. Those of us who bought 60 million of the Wiis for Wii Sports, Just Dance and Wii Fit (among others), did NOT buy Angry Birds on our cellphones because wii were NOT casual gamers.

And the so-called "stigma" of Nintendo being for kids was exactly the opposite of that. Parents bought the Wii BECAUSE it was family friendly. ANd the complete losers who are permanently attached to their mother's couch wasting their lives playing videogames? They bought a PS3 or X360 and were jealous of the Wii winning the 7th Generation and have spent more than a decade trying to explain why it was more popular and far more successful than what Sony and MSFT put out by using airhead terms like shovelware, gimmicky-controls, and cartoonish graphics. Again, you gamers never will get why us non-gamers bought the Wii in record numbers. I've never heard one of you come even close.

Whining because the Wii Pro Controller used up the Wiimote's batteries is so 🙄. It didn't have batteries of its own, so what is the problem with using the Wiimote's batteries? At least you didn't have to have a second set of batteries to recharge. That's a good thing, in case it wasn't obvious.

Nintendo's simultaneously best and worst console. Never let it be said it didn't take big risks. Back the mid 2000s, I was extremely excited for the Revolution. Whilst the hardcore crowd were giving it the most chilling of receptions, I didn't care because this was the big N's comeback (I was a bit of a fanboy then tbh). Annoyingly though I originally would've had one for Christmas when it came out but, I had to wait until March to lay my hands on one due to shortages and recalls. My favourite game was Sin and Successor to the Skies, which is also my pick for a series on the Wii I'd like to see a continuation for, or anything by Treasure would be nice at this point.

Nice video but I have to disagree with your opinion about motion controls. A lot of the games were user intelligence-dependent. Meaning if you didn’t follow the instructions and waggled like an idiot, of course the game wouldn’t pick up your motions. Easy example is Indiana Jones on Wii. If you follow the instructions, that game is immersive and fun as hell with its creative implementation of motion controls. But overweight, bored IGN/media reviewers couldn’t move their wrists enough to play the game properly.
@VGArchives_

Yeah that's true, I'd argue that a lot more games implemented it poorly than well though. The ones that got it right absolutely nailed it and made it easy to play. Nintendo's first party stuff espcially tended to be effortless.

The Wii was an * looking back. The success was carried by casuals who only played Wii Sports and nothing more. Leaving the hardcore gamers to be abandoned by Nintendo with how their software sales were abysmal that led to its dark age before the Wii U unveil.

The Wii U also barely had any hardcore games. Nintendo never cared about the hardcore audience since the GameCube which was also a flop.

completely untrue, sure the casual appeal was the Wii's selling point but Nintendo did not abandon the hardcore crowd: Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, No More Heroes, Resident Evil 4 are just a few examples of this
