I frequented the Whittwood Mall in my teens, that was in the early 70's and loved it ❤ Jolly Roger's had the best hot fudge sundaes

This was a great mall when in its in-door enclosed format.

Sorry, but I’m picky. The street Santa Gertrudes is pronounced “Santa Gur-TRU-Dez”. Now, I grew up in Whittier from 1957-1970 near Norwalk Blvd. and Choissier St. near the Whittier Downs Mall. The anchor stores were, Food Giant, Woolworth, Thrifty drug store, and J.C. Penny. Other stores were gallenkamp shoes, a butcher shop, a baby store, and during the Christmas season a “bitchin” toy store. The was also King Cole market, Cy’s hardware, and Roma pizzeria (best pizza I ever ate). Handy Andy’s burgers, Chris and Pitts, Winchell’s doughnuts, and can’t forget Rubi’s at Washington Blvd. and Broadway across from Chris and Pitts. And one more, Chi Chi’s at Philadelphia St. and Whittier Blvd. across from Fred C. Nells school. The best of times.
