Located in southern Fayette County is Waveland State Historic Site. A Greek Revival mansion built in the 19th century by the Bryan Family. Formerly known as the Bryan Estate, Waveland got its name from the hemp and tobacco crops that would wave in the wind, crops that made the Bryan family rich. Today, it stands as a state landmark, hosting tours, teas, and even vintage baseball teams, but what you won’t see on the surface is the wealth of stories held within the old mansion’s walls.
