WCW should've never have gone out of business. They had great talent and hit gold with the NWO, Crow Sting, Rey Misterio and thr Cruiserweights, Goldberg, WolfPac, Scott Steiner, Booker T, etc.

Wrestling Bios’ Reliving the War recently covered the nWo Wolfpac’s run, and what a damp squib that was. Looking back they didn’t actually do much week to week except cut promos, their most notable storyline was the Kevin Nash/Scott Hall feud.

I love this, but I was there for the latter history of WCW. I watched from about '96 until the company folded. I would love to hear more about the early history of the company. It was just kind of glossed over in this collection.

i have a question. so we know that WCW was winning the ratings war for 83 weeks. but was WCW ever the number one promotion for sometime? i know the NWA was. so was the AWA. and nowadays the WWE/WWF.
@DaveKnowsWrestling
10 ай бұрын
It does depend on what you count qualifies as number one but I say yes it was
@MrBeardsley

The NWA wasn’t a promotion, it was an alliance of independent promotions. And before the WWF went national, there was no such thing as a “number one promotion” because the promotions were all territorial. It also depends on how you define “number one.” If you go by global market share then it’s always been WWE/WWF, no promotion before or since has ever come close.

The NWA was also a promotion in addition to being a governing body. If you're gonna be needlessly nitpicky (which you shouldn't) at least be right

I would say that WCW was the #1 promotion during that 83 weeks. Remember this entity known as WCW only really existed for 13 years, from 88-01.

Goldberg was never over with the fans. WCW invested millions of dollars on the Goldberg character, but got nothing out of it.
