The busy snare/tom interplay of the verses into just ride/snare in the chorus is genius

This is just impressive on so many levels. Ultra precise and linear with those alternating rhythmically locked in guitar parts....man we had such great rock bands back in our days!

Rigor Mortis Radio is one of my favourite Hives tracks just because of Chris' drums, he's basically the lead of the song

Has to be one of the hardest pieces of drumming to master (and must hurt like a bit$h to play in that heat). Chris Dangerous is such a skilled drummer

Nial Pearce For rock maybe. But jazz drumming is ridiculously hard.

The song that makes my arms hurt the most when I play along to it by far. Such an amazing drum groove though with the snare to hi-tom parts. But damn, what a workout.

I personally think one of the many reasons these guys are so underrated is because they came out during the breakout of Muse which was a huge deal back then. And also bunch of other bands from UK like Franz Ferdinand. They almost brought the same image.

i love their music but maybe it could be..that their song's riffs are kinda simple

@@sirbottlekick1690 I would dare say it was probably due to the nature of their songs being kinda simple (lyrics-wise). Not only that but also their sound, giving off a kinda "dad-rock" type of vibe. Franz Ferdinand, on the other hand, were good, but they sort of kept the same sound -- rather than going along with the flow --so their audience got sort of tired of the same songs, thus the band stagnating quite a lot. Their fans grew up too, so of course you can't expect 35 year olds to have the same appeal for Indie rock that they used to do when they were 20.

The Hives underrated? You dont have idea, bro. They are kinda huge and got some remarkable mentions as one of the best bands when it comes to live performance.

good aong bu disappointing live performance. It just doesn't feels fast like last caress or blitzkrieg bop. And it should be performed that fast to be amazing! bass line is meh
