Aki was slated for Autumm 23 and dropped in September. If there is a pattern like I think there will be, Ed is slated to be released in winter 23, he will drop around November 27th at the latest. With Akuma following suit in January. Is it exactly Spring 23, no but I'd rather have em as early as possible. Also they should be more transparent about the alternate 3 costumes. I don’t really think it’s the games fault that it’s gotten stale for so many people, I just think it’s gotten overplayed, playing a game for over a hundred hours every week will do that to you no matter what game it is. I played until I reached Ryu's master/400 hours (not that SF6 Master means anything, different from SFV) and dropped that game. SFV had broken VTs, really annoying characters like Bison and bad netcode, but I had fun playing it. This! I have over 2500 hours on SFV because it was the first SF I took seriously to get good at, SFV had its imperfections and stuff that stressed me out, but SF6 online made me depressed and stressed even more than SFV. The mental stack, input eatings and errors, drive system drove me to uninstall the game. I enjoyed it at first, then honeymoon phase ended and after I hit Master with two characters and tried the MR system for a bit, I uninstalled it. I have over 1000 hours on it because I had more fun grinding WT mode than actually playing online real opponents. Now I’m lvl 100 beat WT now I’m completely bored and stressed. Rather deal with the broken V triggers that don’t really guarantee comebacks if you live, and bad netcode. Kick into drive rush first. If you are not one of those fighters, is like you are playing the game in hard mode against them. So I just end up taking long breaks from the game. I loved that it didn’t have the mental stack of too much to look out for like parries, burnout, DI, DR, DP’s and Supers. Oh and I loved the larger roster too you don’t fight nearly as many Kens unless you were a lower rank. Better thing about SF6 is stuff like BH, communication, Avi battles, and it’s single player world tour mode kinda brings in more casuals for fun and gives us more stuff to do. But gameplay and mechanics especially with two vskills and v triggers and v shift it made it easier to play defensively and offensively where sf6 you’re kinda punished for playing defensively considering you’re defenseless in burnout. SF6 is aimed more towards rewarding those who maintain offensive unlike SFV where you’re rewarded for playing a balanced neutral game and a good offense and defense with some understanding of frame data can get you a win. Also WAY less input errors and no random buffered supers. So yeah I agree SFV is better.

THe honeymoon phase is over and the game still peaks at 20.000 players everyday just on steam, and we know its not the main platform for fighting games. It’s actually a pretty wild number. SF6 currently is dominating the FGC scene, and even MK1 couldn’t keep up with the rushed release, and the ban in many countries. The game has issues but for a lot of people, it’s still what they’ve been waiting for, for many years. It’s a fun game with fun mechanics that allow the lower tier characters to keep up if they use those mechanics better than the opponent. It has more content than what SFV had years after release, and its pretty obvious that the game is far from done yet when it comes to content. The only thing i don’t really like is the “balance patch only after Akuma’s release” thing, but oh well. Let’s be real, the current balance is completely fine for the vast majority. You’re certainly not going to lose games in diamond, plat, etc, where most people are, because of your opponent’s character pick. Overall i’m very happy with it.

It's honeymoon phase may be over, but it's one of Capcoms most solid fighters in a long time, and that's quite the compliment as Capcom has high standards for their fighters. SF4-6 despite Capcom directly funding the esports, getting ahead of the game in terms of popular predatory business practices (seriously, why do people think paying for alts is good?) , and having some of the highest series sales STILL fails to come even within 8 billion gross revenue of SF2. I know there's a "The game isn't bad I just need to get better" mentality in the FGC, and that's why we are able to reach such great heights, but modern SF really is just bad. This is probably a very hot take, but this game in its current state reminds me a lot of Street fighter 5 back in season 1 and 2. The amount of neutral skipping and the excessive snowball pressure that comes out of that is incredibly unfun to deal with and to do to others. It reminds me of the unreactable dashes from the heavy input delay and the snowbally nature of early SF5. I feel like game-wide changes need to be implemented to shift this game away from this style of play. Tournaments also look samey across multiple characters. We need more style variety and representation. It feels like it's almost impossible to express yourself in this game because it feels like most characters are trying to do the same thing with a different skin. AKI releasing and feeling very similar to Rashid is kind of silly. I have a bad feeling that the 3rd DLC character, Ed, will also feel very much the same as well. Rush down should not be the only viable archetype. For me generally, I usually feel pretty robbed when I lose and I also don't feel a sense of accomplishment when I win.

The skill gap between the competitive scene and the casual fighting game fan is so great that it creates a wall at which players simply can not pass. Hence why we have so many Platnium 1 players out there, that is the moment where serious fans begin to meet the casuals. From that point, fundamentals need to be augmented with maximum exploitation of every opening. This is where the input issues arise and how you begin to see just how op drive rush is. This mechanic holds back players because it forces them to start doing things that are not core street fighter anymore. Most quit. Combined with what has to be the WORST battle pass in the industry with the worst rewards and quarterly released bits of content and players go elsewhere. Sagat didn't get nerfed. All of his broken mechanics just transfered over to Ken. Since there is no Sagat in SF6, Ken is Sagat. Ken is also one of the most popular characters in all of the Street Fighters. You don't think this is a coincidence? Their way of making money is to make the game as easy to play as possible so that the people who listen to rap and hip-hop will pick it up and give them money.

The game is really drawing me in hard to watch replays. Actually playing it is getting harder and harder because i find it actually a little frustrating. Oddly, that's not because it is a bad game, but because it feels like i'm starting to feel my age and SF is a game series that you can't get away with doing imperfectly because of a rough day. If I'm tired because i've been changing diapers all day... i'd rather play balder's gate 3 because it is turn based and i dont need to play fast. If i need a 20minute turn, its happy to give it to me. When i play SF6 i feel stress. I'm having a blast and enjoying myself.. but i'm not relaxing. And that's a big thing.

You need to chill. That is the issue. Not getting any younger here either, but I entered the "arena" from the get go with the mindset of playing with people on my level, no matter what rank it is, and thats all she wrote. I mean say I land in Silver and that is my rank. And? If that is my skill level, have at it. Going to sit there and take it easy. People are just too stuck on "I need to rise in ranks"... What for? Ultimately this decreases the stress and increases the learning process cause you take it in better. When I went from Silver for example to Gold. It was literally a click. I was having fun and just improving aspects of my game plan. At some point all the things I learned clicked and I wooshed passed into Gold. New level, new things to learn (unfortunately I have been off for a while due to work, because as you say its demanding as a title, and that is how it should be). But yeah, say I stay on Gold forever. And? Am I playing again on my skill level? Thats all that matters. Or platinum, or whatever one is at. My ass is too old to give a shit for more, I just want to have fun is all

I think the main problem is if you dont use the top 5 chacters, youre always in a "losing situation, an uphill battle". Over time, it becomes exhausting fighting Kens, JP's, and the others who can make your life difficult if you don't use them yourself just to keep up. Plus, the idea behind the "once a year patch update" is going to extend that toxic environment, and a lot of people dont want to deal with it all the time. Not to mention the lack of costumes and worthy dlc, etc. for non-casuals.

The fact you just asked for all of that says so much about the modern state of Street Fighter and why modern SF sucks. You are complaining about balance issues before people have even had time to master the game, look at competitive games that don't have updates, Melee despite Nintendo trying to kill the pro-scene still to this day pulls in more viewers than SF ever has even with Capcom FUNDING its esports. If you are complaining about a lack of patching, frankly that means one of two things you must accept. 1. The game is so simplified and garbage that people have already mastered it, and really you just need updates to shake-up the meta to give the illusion of depth. - I think this one is true 2. You (and the people who liked your comment which frankly most of the community would agree with) think that patches should be made before people come close to mastering the game for whatever reason. -I reject this because I assume people aren't this retarded For a game this new, those are the only two options, if you can master a fighting game to the point it needs patches within the year of its release it sucks.

Lets face it, casual players may try fighting games for fun but if they aren't good at it or passionate about it, they won't stay for long. Casual and new players do try SF6 rank matches, battle hub and such but they won't stay for long if there isn't other new content. They would usually spend more time on World Tour and avatar creation. What capcom should do is expand on the single player content, or if not, introduce co op content as well. Like a 3D beat em up co op mode with your avatar like in world tour or a 2D side scrolling beat em up with your avatar like in avatar battles, im sure most players even veterans fighting game players would love to play it. As for the traditional fighting game content, release more costumes and balance patch. Its getting stale seeing the top tier characters spamming drive rush non stop.

as a world tour / avatar enjoyer miself, I support all of this :3. The fact that I bought this game for that two things mainly, and that the only money I had spend after the basic buy was on cosmetic for the avatar (the good ones, not the crappy garbage) and battle pass, and did not bought any of the dlc characters yet (cause I don't care about this two honestly) say a lot about my priorities on this game xD. Would love to see two statistics that campcom don't show. What modes are the most played What content is the ones that made more reveneu, (though probably this will be better do once they release the character's costumes). Wish they would give more options to play with the avatars, wish could share world tour with other people, have housing, a better chat system specially for clubs (is crap that u don't get notifications when someone speak on them), be abble to dance/ emote WHILE chatting!, coop content.

100% world tour should be continuously expanded. More story routes. Extreme battles should be more readily accessible from the battle hub. The hangout should be a house with furniture you unlock from passes or challenges. I also bought the game for world tour, and I’m honestly not all about the master/legend rank grind like most people seem to be. They flaunted WT to attract new players and they need to keep developing that aspect of the game, not piquing interest and then abandoning.

Ken's st.HP has ZERO downsides for a heavy button, JP's OD Amnesia should never lead to a 65% combo off an opponent's throw and Luke's advancing normals should not be plus. Add the cheating problem with auto counter-DIs especially from China players and the game will definitely die out sooner than later.

Nerf the top 3 so the top 3 below them become the top 3 then need those top 3 to balance the game and force the top 3 below them to become the next top 3 etc etc, this same song and dance will generally happen more of you keep nerfing but if you buff the ones below to sit at the top 3 table, that'll be always a better choice!
@afbriant
11 ай бұрын
@DANCERcow I guess it's a difference of opinion but it think buffing is generally a worse option. It power creeps the game. This cycle doesn't HAVE to happen. Most people agree there those few outliers but the rest of the game is pretty dam balanced. So I see it as making a pretty perfect cast even if Ken and jp remain at the top (which is fine) bringing them closer to everyone else would be perfect.

It’s also clearly a pay to win game at this point. That’s how all season subscription model games work. The truly great, well rounded at was SFAE 2012 update. They came out with Ultra which was clearly rushed and (in my opinion) deliberately left brokenly unbalanced making people want to migrate to SF5

Nice episode! I think it's both confident and foolish to release a game in a game competitive environment with a 2 million dollar investment while not intending to balance it for a year. SF6 is a fantastic video game and a great start to an awesome fighting game. However, most fighting games just can't have longevity when they are initially released because it is impossible for QA and devs to test them as much as a worldwide player base can. In it's current state, many of the interesting qualities are often just overshadowed by powerful mechanics. We really need to hear more about fixing inputs before any balance changes, though both would be great.

Been over since about week 2 or 3. SF launches always suffer from the same assortment of issues - S tier running amock for too long, connectivity issues, lack of punishment for leavers, etc. At one point, I played a 50-game stretch of 28 Kens, 15 JPs and a random assortment of mostly modern players (another poorly thought-out decision). This game is just as flawed of a release as 5 - maybe more so with the clear up-tick of cheaters now coming into the game - and, I don't think the marketing hype and stroking the FGC's need to be relevant ("muh pot!") makes for compelling gameplay.

He's just really good at throwing his zoning tools out, which is another reason I don't like him lol Other top players at least branch out. Hes stale as bread and doesn't really branch out at all. He definitely didn't in 5. Just can't respect a Luke Main 😂

Man !! I'm soon glad other players are feeling the same !! SF5 was much more accurate, the Drive Rush thing allows people to connect combos nearly forever!! Also the imput problems are so bad ir costed me so many matches! I'm a Ryu player, soooo many times I'm at a perfect moment for shinku hadooken and I get a shoryuken, end up getting get punished and it costs me the match soooo often !

This happens every game. The fighting game era is on it's way out. SF6 will live on, but the genre (Fighting games) is definitely dying. Nerf, Buff, Toxicity, Rage quitting, S -Tier, Braindead, Sweaty, X/twitter rants. The scene is not evolving for the better.
