The senate was never going to confirm Garland. Obama knew it and nominated him anyways. The senate is still republican and they have a republican president in office so naturally this time they will confirm the nominee. There is no righteous side here.. Its all politics and both sides will do shady shit whenever possible and whenever it benefits them. If you still dont understand that well then you need to open your partisan eyes.

HighburyAFCSoul He was nominated back in 2016 but Mitch McConnell intentionally blocked him and refused senate Republicans from holding a hearing on the nomination because he felt “it wasn’t fair” for Obama to nominate a judge. Look it up, it’s awful.
@BlueUKLouis

@Michael Cristian Possibly, if we vote Trump out. I am not sure if you are aware, but Ruth Bader Ginsburg's passing has pushed Republicans to fill her seat before the election. It's hypocrisy on their end because they blocked Garland in 2016 from being nominated because it was "an election year". Now, their attitudes seem to have changed. If Trump loses the election and Democrats win back the senate this November, Garland may have another shot.
@BlueUKLouis

@Michael Cristian Yes, but because of what McConnell has done, we will be expanding the court to 10 or 11 justices--because the Republicans have shown that they don't care about breaking the rules. We now have to undo the damage they have caused to our judicial system.

Judge Garland would have been an excellent SC justice and I was disappointed at the way my party handled his nomination. I thought it was a subversion or the advice and consent obligation to procedurally block his hearing and was a bad policy decision that would increase pressure on the D’s to politicize the court, a bad thing for the country.

He said he got into public service via law because he struggled in math and chemistry. This is the problem with USA. People who don't understand chemistry are running the country. We have people writing "healthcare" policy who couldnt get into med school, struggle with statistics, and have never studied microbiology. If you don't understand first principles of chemistry and computers, you shouldn't be allowed to hold public office - you have no quasi-accurate idea of how the world operates and you're relying on superstition or social pressure rather than your own objective analysis to inform your opinions.
