YESS Evil Within 2 my fav horror game 😭💜 this was a very interesting look into some of the aspects of the video game horror genre, love seeing stuff on your channel because you’re such an amazing content creator; good to see a fellow collector and video game enthusiast so passionate about it with such a small following, you deserve all the hype my dude!!

Great video. I've never really been a horror game fan. They just aren't my thing. And I did try the old Resident Evil games and I could not get used to the controls. It very much feels like a series that you needed to grow up with to enjoy playing. I know some that have tried them when they were adults and still liked them, but very few.

What you said about how you weren't scared of the old school Resident Evil games and general horror of the 5th gen, just makes me feel sold in comparison. I'm not sure how old you are but I'm gonna assume you're at least under the age of 28? I don't mean this in a bad way, just trying to bring in some perspective because as someone who saw these old horror games when I was kid and was scared of them, it was mainly because back in the late 90s and early 2000s, we had no idea that video game graphics would look the way they do now ever since the 7th gen. When the the 6th gen came around and we had games like Final Fantasy X, the first Resident Evil remake for the Gamecube, and Kingdom Hearts to name a few, that was the best we thought graphics would ever look LOL. And to bring it back to classic Resident Evil, you have to keep in mind that when they came out, it was before the media got over saturated with zombie media that would become a big thing in the 2000s. But back in the 90s and early 00s before the zombie-mania trend, zombies were still a creepy concept for a lot of us, especially for kids. And never mind that RE had other things that people can find creepy like big insects (especially spiders) or being in enclosed areas. And when RE4 originally came oout, it was a whole different level because the environment and overall atmosphere was just unnerving (for the time) lol. And yes you brought up a fair point of how the game's controls what with the tank controls is what truly made these games scary for us back in the day but you just learned to t adjust to them and try to be strategic with what you do and in turn, this limitation did indeed help amplify the horror, especially in Silent Hill. So I do understand why you don't find the old games scary or creepy unlike those of us who were growing up around this time but I just thought I'd pepper in some perspective from someone who was around during this time. It just makes it all the more complicated for people in my age bracket or older because we got to experience literal improvement and change before our eyes jumping from the 5th generation (PS1/N64) all the way o the 8th generation lol.
