I think making a run-down house is a lot of fun. You did a great job. This house never registered to me as a trailer house, but more of a "manufactured home" which is kind of a step up from what I think of as a trailer house. You did an awesome job. I'm glad you put in the smaller windows in the bathroom as the larger windows in a bathroom just seems too awkward for people using the toilet and taking a shower. I see lots of builds where people place the toilet in front of a large window and I wonder, "What are they thinking?"

I have a large window right in front of my toilet irl. I hate itttt lol but black out curtains yknow. I live on a main road too. The big windows can be amazing sometimes cause I love laying in my bed and opening the windows during the summer and hearing traffic & life outside. Kids playing, crickets, birds, etc. However, I used to have see through curtains and once had a friend text me that she saw me at night when I had my lights on and I was just chilling in a towel 😂. Definitely an odd design choice !

When I play this family, I hook the older boy up with that Bunch girl, then get him a part-time job with the criminal field. The Bunch parents and their oldest boy are not pleased. As for his dad, in my world his wife left him after he had a one-night-stand. He - along with some coworkers - went out to a bar after work, and he got totally wasted, since his expected promotion had fallen through. Anyway, he hooked up with that one Singles mom with the little girl. (He's the father). When his wife found out, she left. This explains why his eldest son hates him. Since I age up toddlers with Nraas, that Singles toddler is the same age as the youngest Alvi boy. They are classmates, but don't know they are related. It makes for some drama in my game.

Love it! and I never thought about renovating their house when I played this family, I let him dumpster dive for items to add to the house and sell for a little bit money. I always seems to keep the house the same and it was good for the storyline.

Hey be nice. I live in Florida and I'm old. HEHEHE. Just kidding. But I have been renovating Sunset Valley myself. But have not thought of any way to renovate the Alvi house. But you have inspired me. Thank you, friend. I am just about finished too, with my save file for Sunset Valley. And have not had any ideas for the Alvi house. I once actually use boat trailers to make what looked like a real trailer on wheels once. It didn't work as well as I liked tho.

You mentioned that you wanted to add stuff to the bathroom, but thinking of the characters in the house, adding nothing was the best choice after all. It would be typical for a single dad with a son to just have an empty area that he can't think of what should go there and just leave it. I like the little touches like the phone on the wall by the fridge. I get the impression that basic-hetero-man tacky is a challenge for you ;) But take it from this tacky basic hetero man, it's easy - just don't try at all. :D

I always think Sims 3 sometimes don't do "poor" accurately, they do look a little fancy sometimes. Come to think of it they also made "rich" tacky. This is somehow more grounded in reality.

As a former trailer dweller irl, I have to say there's usually skirting around the trailer base (whatever it's sitting on), that basically looks like a foundation. And trailers can have large bathrooms. The one I was in had 2 bathrooms. A tiny, coat closet sized one with a shower/tub combo, toilet & sink - its doors leading to living room & 2nd bedroom. Then the master bedroom had an ensuite bathroom with a huge jacuzzi tub that also had a shower head in it, toilet, double vanity, built in storage/linen closet. We joked you could play baseball in there. The whole thing was from 1970 tho, so it was about as water tight as the Titanic and the floors felt like they would gave in any day. That said, Iqbal's trailer is glorious and you did a fantastic job!

nice build, looks pretty accurate to an american trailer. the only thing is that they're usually done in all-white siding, but this colorful one fits the world nicer. i like to turn the several empty mountain lots at the north of sunset valley into a trailer park and some cabins usually. never thought to redo this family's house but now i gotta.

You are referring to an RV or actual trailer not a trailer house. A trailer house is called that because it is made to be pulled down the road ON a long bed trailer, not because the house itself is a trailer and gets moved. It does not have bump outs because it has to be able to fit on roads that are only two lanes wide. Have you heard the terms "single wide" and "double wide"? That is referring to if it will fit going down the road a single lane or double lane. Those long thin ones are single and the double are just that double the single wide. Now, having said that, back in the day people would "add on" to trailer houses, which would usually hurt it structurally and was usually wood because they had to cut into the siding to add on and used wood to add extra supports, and they are cheap houses and people without a lot of money so used the cheap wood to do it. So if you are trying to be authentic about it, then making an add on with weird wooden parts or corrugated metal siding and roofs would fit but not bump outs because trailer houses are very flat on the two long sides in order to be put on the giant trailer and driven down the road into place where it would then stay semi-permanently. Trailer houses don't have long lifespans and get moved out and new ones put in the same place. The roofs are all one piece to help them structurally. Again because they are cheap houses its usually a cheap metal roof. Now days, there are nice good metal roofs but those are not whats used for trailer houses. They are not as strong a "real" houses and are very subject to strong winds. Have you ever heard of news reports where all the houses on the outskirts of town were knocked around by a storm? Those are usually the trailer houses because the wind can get UNDER the house with those pilons and pull it up. Trailer houses are usually also outside town or on the outskirts because cheaper land and if they do get blown around they won't damage people's "real" houses. Having said all that, this is the Sims. The reno looks great, just not like a trailer house would actually be. Which again is fine, because its the Sims.
