The missile knows where it is at all times. It knows this because it knows where it isn't. By subtracting where it is from where it isn't, or where it isn't from where it is (whichever is greater), it obtains a difference, or deviation. The guidance subsystem uses deviations to generate corrective commands to drive the missile from a position where it is to a position where it isn't, and arriving at a position where it wasn't, it now is. Consequently, the position where it is, is now the position that it wasn't, and it follows that the position that it was, is now the position that it isn't. In the event that the position that it is in is not the position that it wasn't, the system has acquired a variation, the variation being the difference between where the missile is, and where it wasn't. If variation is considered to be a significant factor, it too may be corrected by the GEA. However, the missile must also know where it was. The missile guidance computer scenario works as follows. Because a variation has modified some of the information the missile has obtained, it is not sure just where it is. However, it is sure where it isn't, within reason, and it knows where it was. It now subtracts where it should be from where it wasn't, or vice-versa, and by differentiating this from the algebraic sum of where it shouldn't be, and where it was, it is able to obtain the deviation and its variation, which is called error.

When will people understand, the F-35 is NOT a fighter, all 3 variants aren't fighters, they are all made to be an air to ground strike aircraft that can defend itself, it's purpose is to work along side the F-22, though it does possess fighter capability, it's not a dedicated fighter, and more supposed to be a multi-role aircraft that heavily leans towards precision strikes, the F-22 can carry JDAMs, but it's not meant to. Nevertheless, still a cool ass aircraft, love you Sam

Time to catch flak. Although I'm amazed by the ease of use of the hovering controls, the performance of the plane left me with a "meh" sensation. Yes, I'm aware it's a 5th gen, but going away from the gun again? It's very unlikely it'll ever be used again in a dogfight, but still in Iraq and Afghanistan a tiny F-16 with a puny 20mm made insurgents ran away from the fight. Even if you put the gun pod, you increase your radar cross-section. I still don't see the F-35 platform as a "be all end all" for other planes. I still remember how in the Gulf War, people forget Apaches were the ones to open a corridor for the entire air campaign. F-15C practically destroyed 3/4 of the Iraqi air force, F-117s struck high value targets, F-16s did the extremely dangerous Wild Weasel roles and also bombarded whatever was left of the Iraqi air force alongside F-15E. I still don't see the F-35 family as a replacement for all that. Weapon's bay are too small, thus if they need more ordnance they'll have to use external pylons, more weight will consume more fuel so tankers will be key, and so will drop tanks, thus decreasing the radar cross-section even more. The F-22 was designed as an air superiority fighter. 6 AMMRAMS in the belly and 2 Sidewinders on the flanks. A flight of 4 could literally deny an entire country's airspace. The B-2, a specialized bomber with something like 40.000Lb of boom boom capacity. You can cripple a whole country with that, and more if they're GPS/LGB bombs. The F-117, a specialized bomber also, but intended for highly valuable targets. Yes, I know it's old, but for the Gulf War it was more than good enough to cripple Saddam's comms network in 1 night. I'm not a denier of the F-35, I just think it hasn't reached maturity yet. Right now, I see it as a weapon's platform that wants to be too many things at once, but doesn't excel in any one category. Just my 2 pennies. I've been an aviation enthusiast since I was 6, and almost all of the most iconic planes have achieved that status for being specialized in one area instead of many.
@aquilesca5tr0
15 сағат бұрын
putting an internal gun means additional weight that isn´t optional regardless of mission, you keep saying how it loses stealth in order to match the f16 but forget that the f16 doesnt even have the option of stealth. The f35 is a superior sead aircraft in it sead configuration and a superior cas aircraft in its cas configuration when compared with the f16
