*_Urge to conquer known world on horse back intensifies_*
@mikeshramko8331

Actually, what Ghengis Khan did was more complex than that. When his campaign reached your village they would ask you to join them or be razed to the ground. The price was to provide x amount of supplies on a regular basis and x number of men seasonally. In exchange they would be allowed to govern themselves and enjoy trade from everyone connected to the growing Mongol empire. The Mongols tended not to overdraw resources...they didn't need to with so many joining them. From major civilizations gifted people were allowed to serve as Ghengis Kahn's advisers, ensuring the voice of those people would have Kahn's ear. Most opted to join them since this was actually a better deal than they were getting from their local lords. This was the same tactic he used to unit the Mongols. It would be more accurate to say he united the known world...since the ones he fought he fought to annihilate only. He never fought to subjugate (i.e. conquer). Unfortunately, without his keen leadership, such a broad empire could not survive his death and immediately bagan to decline after Ghengis Kahn, merely a mortal man, died.

@@mikeshramko8331 Fabulous mini history lesson! Yes, he wiped out entire villages that did not join his confederation, yet, as noted, the Khan gave them a much better deal. Brutal? ,maybe, but remember The time period; it was a brutal age, more people died of disease, don't forget famine, and childbirth was no picnic, either. Women died giving birth, and if three babies out of five made it to adulthood, the family was lucky. The Khan brought civilization to a LOT of people and the Mongols taught everyone a new type of warfare. Incredible people, fabulous history. ✌♥️😸

I saw them in Amsterdam last night! They were so good! Can definitely recommend visiting them. Got my Hu shirt signed and took a picture with 2 of them as well!
