Great Reaction! Tim is the basso profundo. Adam Chance is doing the sound of the jaw harp which sounds like a didgeridoo! Adam Rupp is doing the harmonica with his voice. Austin is the one singing first in front in the hat & Rob Lundquist is the 2nd singer in the beard & glasses. This is THE BEST a cappella group...period! Glad you liked the song! 😊

Thank you! I'm glad that you enjoyed the reaction. Tim's voice goes so deep it's unreal. The no-monica is simply amazing. They are such an incredibly talented bunch of chaps.

This is the song that lead me to discover Home Free. I knew and loved the song from the "O Brother Where Art Thou?" movie, and I just happened to see Home Free did a cover of it. I didn't expect much, because in general I have never cared for covers as much as the original. Home Free completely changed my mind with this song, and I just kept finding more and more songs they did!!! I'm a huge fan now and love everything I have heard from them. Thank you for a fabulous reaction to them! I'm glad you enjoy what they do. I hope you do more songs by them!

Home Free will never disappoint. They are masters at producing the most gorgeous, tight harmonies. Adam Rupp is a world class beat boxer. The other guys beat box some, but Adam is in a class by himself. He is playing what the Home Fries call a "no-monica". Harmonica sounds without a harmonica. Adam Chance (Chance), baritone/bass the guy in the back with the orange colored hat is doing the jaw harp, with a throat singing technique. The super bass is Tim Foust. The high tenor is Austin Brown. The lower tenor is Rob Lundquist.

They are all so absolutely amazing at what they do. I was so confused at the no-monica( love that name haha) I didn't realize the human mouth could make that sound haha

Home Free is the best--period. It's easy to forget they are completely acapella and make all "instrumental" sounds themselves. In this song they are making a distinct southern (bluegrass) presentation--it definitely fits the lyrics of the song. Chance doing the jaw harp sound really sets the stage for this song's story. Tim's bass line completely grounds the harmonies and Adam's voice percussion simply cannot be beat. This performance highlights a lot of Home Free's strengths although they also handle ANY other genre just as amazingly❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️

This song blew me away when I first heard it & I was completely hooked. These guys are all so talented. They lean towards country but they can do any genre. They all can take the lead depending on whos voice is best for the song. They are known for their tight harmonies. Tim Foust is one of the best bass singers out there & their beatboxer vocal percussionist Adam Rupp can simulate any sound. This song is very old & is done in the bluegrass country style. It was used in the movie "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" starring George Clooney.

The sound you hear in the song most prominent in the beginning and ending is a Jews Harp (the Didgeridoo is the Australian Bushman's long tube wind instrument). That is done by baritone Adam Chance. The deep bass is Tim Foust, who has a 5-6 active range with a very high tenor headvoice. Rob is usually second lead after Austin Brown; though they all switch up depending on the song (see Rob just Killing it in Boyz2men's End Of The Road cover!).

The bass is Tim Faust, not Adam Chance. Adam is the one doing the mouth harp or the digeredoo sound. (I know I misspelled that).

That beginning sound is not a digerido, but instead a jaw harp or Jew's harp sound. A tiny metal harp with a flapper spring in the middle. It is a traditional inexpensive country/bluegrass (older actually) simple accompanying instrument. You put the harp up against your lips or teeth and hum through it as you pluck the flapper, making a modulated boing sound. Chance does the sound using harmonic overtone singing, a.k.a. Tibetan throat singing.

The first instrument imposter was a “jew’s harp”. Also called a “Chang” and a variety of other names in other parts of the world. The Jew’s harp (no connection or inference to the Jewish faith).
