One of my first childhood memories is hearing something like, “And it’s low and outside for ball one,” while actively reading. Very enjoyable video, Art. Thank you.

"Just because something's free, doesn't mean it has to be junk". So right! Agree about your thoughts of editing and the need for dialogue. Your pup is a sweetie. Thanks for the tag, Art. i did this one last Tuesday, hopefully with little venom. It was a fun one. Good booktube therapy! I will head over to the new channels. Thanks! 😊💙

GO MARINERS! We used to watch all their games until we cut the cable and started streaming and now we can only get the games that show up on network tv. Still, though, they are our team! Ha ha! I also don't like people borrowing or touching my books. I will give away books, but I've learned not to loan them! Thanks for doing the tag!

All right! Go Mariners! I used to live in Washington as a teenager, so even though I am now in the midwest they are still my team. I had the privilege of watching the greats play - Griffey, Edgar Martinez, Jay Buhner, the whole crew. Great times. Though their lack of post season success can be frustrating, I'll continue to watch them. They are a blast to watch.

This is such a great tag. I can relate to spoilers between spouses. I accidentally spoiled the major plot point to Death on the Nile for my husband years ago and I’m still mortified to this day. 😅 So sorry you had the Balrog scene spoiled for you… it is still one of my favorites! Also, I too frequently read to my favorite team playing baseball. As a lifelong New York Mets fan, it’s comforting and I know I’m not missing much. 😂

You should do this tag - consider yourself tagged! I've really enjoyed watching these videos, I'd love to hear your answers. Someone once told me that a well written story can handle being spoiled, and I sort of agree with that - I love rereading books, and some of the best ones hold up in spite of me knowing the plot details. But spoilers frustrate me! It's like having a birthday present spoiled. You'll still enjoy the gift, but the element of surprise was taken away.

Do not write in a library book you monster. 😂 Love that! Thank you so much for the tag and shoutout! I will get to this very soon! I did want to add a thought about when publishers/editors make changes to books because of something our current sensibilities find distasteful. I think we need to leave written works as they are (unless like you said the author makes the changes). We can’t know where we are and where we are going if we don’t know where we came from. And, like you also notes, I think it’s ok to be uncomfortable sometimes when you are reading. It leads to constructive criticism and critical thinking both of which are so important! Great video!

I've heard the penguin cloth bounds tend to fall apart as you use them so maybe it's better that they just stay on your shelves.😂 That's a bummer about your free little libraries. I didn't know that about Oliver Twist. I agree that an author editing themselves later makes sense. That's an interesting way to see someone's growth through time. My 200 unread books feel attacked. 😅😅 I keep telling them they're going to get read but I still think they feel abandoned.
