Adverse Childhood Experiences’ (ACEs) is a term used to describe very stressful events or circumstances that children may experience during their childhood, and which can have a serious impacts on future mental and physical health. However not everyone associates natural disasters -such as the Black Summer bushfires and the COVID19 pandemic - as an ACE. This short animation video discusses how natural disaster events can impact a child's mental health and wellbeing, even four years after the event.
