As a fellow Canadian who has spent much of his working life on the prairies around heavy duty mechanics and farmers, who may sometimes be working to slightly less close tolerances than precision machinists like AvE, the version of the formula which I’m more familiar with is that “the angle of the dangle should be approximately equivalent to the slack of the crack”
@poyakiani7883
4 жыл бұрын
According to my calculations based on experimental data, it is inversely proportional to the angle of the dangle and directly proportional to the mass of the ass. I'm open to argue about it.

I am not entirely sure how to cope with having just seen an adult that is proficient with large and expensive fabrication machinery mill, turn, and thread a potato. This poem shows the joke is on us. The Designer The designer sat at his drafting board A wealth of knowledge in his head was stored Like "What can be done on a radial drill Or a turret lathe or a vertical mill?" But above all things a knack he had Of driving gentle machinists mad. So he mused as he thoughtfully scratched his bean "Just how can I make this thing hard to machine?" If I make this perfect body straight The job had ought to come out first rate But would be so easy to turn and bore That it would never make a machinist sore So I'll put a compound taper there And a couple of angles to make them swear And brass would work for this little gear But its too damned easy to work I fear So just to make the machinist squeal I'll make him mill it from tungsten steel And I'll put these holes that hold the cap Down underneath where they can't be tapped Now if they can make this it'll just be luck Cause it can't be held by dog or chuck And it can't be planed and it can't be ground So I feel my design is unusually sound. And he shouted in glee, "Success at last! This goddam thing can't even be cast.',

I feel you ability to take ever day problems and turn them into seemingly insurmountable problems which you in fact manage to surmount, is a modern re-interpretation of the hero saga. If Jason would of had any sense he would said, "bollocks to it I am not getting the golden fleece I am just going to go off an be a farmer",which would not of made much of story or a youtube video. Wow, I haven't laughed like this in a long time. Some of the spoken lines are truly brilliant and very clever. Just like comedy actors, I do not know how anyone can deliver some of this stuff without breaking character. Thanks for the LOLs!

I am very disappointed in this video. The manual on machining potato's clearly calls out a coarse tooth slitting saw and suggests the use of un-coated carbide when making nuts and bolts out of spuds. Although I have yet to start machining on items from my garden, maybe a video on an acme threaded carrot might be in the future. Ya never know. Great video. Stop by my channel to find out.

Joe, ya knock me out! The first (or, maybe second) thing I thought was #4 Acme carrot. I'd love to get together and spend an afternoon deburring radishes with you.

What'd be interesting is if you somehow displaced the water in the potato with something that hardened so that you could have a structural potato. Not sure what would be good for that, something hydroscopic?
