Hello! I located this from an interview Mr.Norton was doing for a movie called Birdman (from Fresh Air on NPR), answering the question on why he wasn't returning: "I think that, you know, my feeling was that I experimented and experienced what I wanted to. I really, really enjoyed it. And yet I looked at the balance of time in life that one spends not only making those sorts of films, but then especially putting them out and obligations that rightly come with that. And there were just a lot of things that - I wanted more diversity - I sort of chose to continue on my path of having a diversity of experiences. Maybe on some unconscious level, I didn't want to have an association with one thing in any way degrade my effectiveness as an actor in characters. I think you can sort of do anything once, but if you do it too many times it can become a suit that's hard to take off in other people eyes. And if I had continued on with it, I wouldn't have made "Moonrise Kingdom" or "Grand Budapest" or "Birdman" because those all overlapped with - and those were more the priority for me. But I totally, you know, I continue to be a fan. And I'm really, really happy I got to do it once. That particular character I think has a really proud tradition actually of really good actors playing him. And I think I'm really happy to be part of it." Was just scrolling through comments and hope this gives a bit more light to it. Cheers!

My father and I were watching this movie and when Blonsky took the serum and went up against the hulk (pre abomination), we both looked at each other and said "They can make Captain America". I'm glad they went with the final haircut over the military haircut, and they went for a more linebacker body. Every little detail pays off. The movie came out well. And with most media the actual product doesn't look as good as the concept art. But looking at those concept art, I can say here they managed to bring those to life. I'm happy that they had Edward Norton as the Hulk. I've heard some people say that he's hard to work with (though honestly there's no evidence for that), but every great creative artist has that energy about them; it's only evidence they're inspired and want to lead with great ideas. DANNY CENTAURUS Norton *was* the first to play the Hulk in the MCU. The list of Phase 1 movies always includes The Incredible Hulk as the second one, between Iron Man and Iron Man 2. I love his deleted scenes from the DVD, I think they add a lot to the movie, and it sucks that Marvel edited out so much of his contribution. However, I also can see why they couldn't keep doing rewrites during filming for a bigger budget movie with more than one central hero. If that was Norton's requirement, they were probably right to let him go.

This will always be my favorite Hulk movie. It's kinda like the spider-man 2 of Hulk movies to me. I wish they had done a sequel to this movie because Edward Norton as Hulk was so perfect

You can tell why marvel took issue with Ed Norton to be fair, he is clearly a control freak

It's funny how movies are like paintings. Years later "hated" or bombed movies end up being universally loved and missed. Wish that people would see how good they are sooner than later.

I still say TO THIS DAY IN JULY 2019 that 2008 Hulk looks better, meaner, more brutal, darker (personality wise), angrier than 2012 Hulk, 2015 Hulk, 2017 Hulk, 2018 Hulk, 2019 Hulk. Mark Ruffalo made Hulk his own and did an amazing job but it can't hold a candle to Edward Norton's Hulk. FIGHT ME!!!

Disney was so affraid of Edward's talent and where he could have taken Hulk that they preferred to get ride of him.

Disney wasn't even involved with marvel when they made the first live action hulk in the mcu. Ed Norton tried to take over the direction of the movie so they replaced his ass.

This supposed to be a solo Hulk movie. And Norton did a great job here. Mark did a great job too, for pg13 for sure. But this Hulk, dark and wild.
