wow, blast from the past, I made and animated all the character sprites for the k:9 one including k9 and the large k9 for the title page and a mate of mine made all the environments, it was a fun little project to work on, I still have all the sprites I made and old 3dsmax files :D

This was pretty much the coolest thing ever when I was a kid. It made me feel as powerful as a Dalek. I seriously miss when the Who site had content that had actual effort put into it like this. The other games (especially those released during S2) were also great and I remember them just as well as the episodes themselves. The loss of them is one of many depressing things about the death of Flash. I wish more people cared about them so that playable versions in the modern day could become possible.

I played this game sooo much as a kid! Finished it at least five times too! I was so proud of myself the first time that I literally screenshotted the ending screen, printed it, and stuck it to my door! Real shame it's no longer playable, the BBC really should preserve their games; all of the old Walking With series games are also lost now sadly.

When I played this game way back when, the thing I liked most about it was that it was a difficult game, necessitating well thought strategy and puzzle solving. As opposed to someone who may think that getting to play as a Dalek should be easy, I liked this because it showed just how smart even a Dalek needed to be in order to succeed, as a death laser and shield are all well and good but if you're just a mindless drone, you'll fall sooner or later without the smarts to use them properly.

I have some good news! Someone put together an archive of tonnes of old flash games called BlueMaxima's Flashpoint and it's saved most of the old Doctor Who games on it! It's got Daleks v Cybermen, Cyber Assault, that K9 one, and most importantly, The Last Dalek! Defo check it out, I was over the moon when I found out about it!

I agree that The Last Dalek was an incredible game, and I enjoyed it thoroughly when it was still available to play, although I disagree on whether or not it was the best doctor who game ever. While I would love to see this game return or receive a remaster, I much prefer the Adventure Games and would rather prioritize that over The Last Dalek, although I do still love that game.

There was also another Dalek game released in 2011 where you took control of a Strategist Paradigm Dalek and a squad of Drones. It was called 'Dalek Supremacy'. It was released with five other games and they were all tied to the Doctor Who Monser Invasion Magazines, so when the magazines ended, so did all the Monster Invasion games. Which is sad.

The game had a new game plus thing where you could start again fully powered up this time but I never got around to seeing what was behind that room full of barrels.

I had played it, but never completed it. It was one of the hardest games that I have ever played personally. That's essentially with the white things (sorry I can't remember what they are called) that pop up from the ground and shoot you. I can never avoid them in time. Not to mention that respawning enemy feature is one of the most frustrating aspects of gameplay that I have experienced. Say like that you kill one of your enemies that are in the game. It unlocks the door. You go in the door, but you realise that you forgot something or is a dead end. You go back in the door you had just entered the room in and boom! The enemy that you just killed has respawned. It's annoying more than anything really. As for the K--9 game, the only level that I sort of got lucky on was The End of the World. Every other level might've been a bit too hard. It was fun however before the title screen appeared to throw that bone so high up so that K-9 couldn't reach it in time before the main game loaded. The title screen and the fact that you could choose what level that you wanted to do first was really cool though. But still, The Last Dalek was a game that I couldn't complete as I found it to be too hard. Especially when you only get to use 2 powerups at the same time. As far as I can remember, the Dalek in the episode that the game was based on, after breaking free and powering itself up, was more than capable of doing more than 2 things at once. It felt like a lack of consistency really and having to switch powerups constantly during the action. Overall it was far from a bad game, but it was a tough and frustrating one if you ask me personally really.

Loved this game, though always felt a little let down by the ending. After all the puzzles and problem solving, not to mention that fiendish level with the Doctor (required a lot of zipping around to give your shield time to recharge, as I recall) the finale, the "end of the Time War" felt a little anti-climactic.

I played it though managed to hit some difficulty walls so never quite completed. I also remember the K9 one and a 2D one with blimps based on the parallel Earth episodes. Shame they don't do this kind of thing anymore. I also noticed that the url changed from being /doctorwho to a generic programme code b006q2x0 which made me think it has just been delegated to another programme listing.

Hey Dalek Bump, bit random but a random video suggestion but I thought of an idea where you suggest Dalek Big Finish audios that don’t require listening to non-Dalek audios beforehand. (Since for me I would love to devour Dalek Audios but I don’t particularly want to listen to non-Dalek audios to understand Dalek ones) So basically Dalek Big Finish that anyone can pick up and listen easily. Might help fellow Dalek fans who haven’t dabbled in Dalek audios listen to them.

I found a nearly working copy of the game, and how to play it. Sadly the spam filters prevent me from providing an official link to the BBC website so uh.. good luck I guess? (I'm not going to be trying to help again.) Edit: Okay, I lied. A bit of a moonshot but I'm reaching out to the BBC directly to see if anything can be done to help revive games such as this, given we have the technology to do so. I don't want these gems lost to time. If they paid to have me take a train up to their offices and help piece things together, I think I generally would jump at a chance to help. Just I can't post URLs here for some reason.. :/ The technology being developed to play Flash content is called Ruffle, by the way. It exists both as a browser plugin, desktop application and an embedded script for websites.
