The nemesis system should be in every game honestly. Having detectives tracking you down in Gta 6 would be so great. Honestly having that and comapinions that can follow you around the open world and have special interactions or events would be amazing. I feel like rockstar wanted to do something like this in red dead 2 but it was cut for whatever reason.
@PSISomething
2 жыл бұрын
The actual reason why why Nemesis system hasn't been used in barely anything is that Warner Bros patened it when it was first made for Shadow of Mordor and would sue the pants off of anyone who tried to copy it. Meanwhile they barely done anything with it themselves outside of tweaking it for Shadow of War
@PostModernLemon

@@PSISomething That's such a shame. Though it's not surprising that Warner Brothers couldn't even stop at ruining their own games with their greed, they had to spoil it for everyone else. @@edited115 It sounds really cool but I think it should be an optional thing, like there shouldn't be anything stopping you from just shooting him in the face with no repercussions like any other civilian in the game. You can do it if you want and I guess it could have perks like calling police off once he hunts you down so he can "look deeper into it" or whatever but you shouldn't be forced to engage in LA Noire styled cutscenes and stuff like that. Also Jerma's right, having pvp or a player-detective that hunts you down would be the objectively worst idea especially knowing the state of GTA 5 online outside of roleplay shit. Half the time they've got cheats that can get *you* banned instead of them and the other half they're throwing molotovs and firing RPGs while you're just sittting there trying to get a haircut. I do agree with Jerma, I’d love to see more developers try their own take on the Nemesis system. Especially in more open-world sandbox games. You’re just minding you’re own business, admiring the scenery, and some mook you barely remember fighting comes outta nowhere being like: “I FINALLY FOUND YOU! YOU RUINED MY LIFE, NOW I WILL RUIN YOU!” And you barely remember who this particular mook was. However, the game has a random chance to any random enemy you defeated into a returning nemesis who swears vengeance on you and actively hunts you down.

The first was getting Jerma to use the Elbow Drop in the final fight against Abomination, which you can see him doing in the video because there were a lot of attempts to beat that fight that got cut from the video. The second was a donation I sent in once the stream was over. I was playing this game alongside Jerma streaming it, and it took him about 12 hours to beat it. Two six hour streams, approximately, albeit with the Reddit Shelf thing going on in the background. Took me about 2 hours, and I sent my donation to belittle the shortman.
