'' If we now deny the use, or stop using swastika, we could give a signal abroad that actually it was Nazi symbol in Finland - which it never was. We are still proud of it and still using it. it's also a symbol of Finnish stubbornness that we don't give our right or our own history, if there is not any reason to be ashamed of it'' - Kai Mecklin

Spinning wheel - symbol of the Rising Sun-Jarilo; symbol of eternal victory of light over darkness, and eternal life over death. Color kolovrat also has important implications: Fire symbolizes rebirth; Blue - exemption or renewal of life; Black - amended through the destruction of the old. Mission is to defend the character movement as an essential part of life. The ideal of spiritual growth helps man and purify his karma through the pooling of experience.

Back when most Finns were illiterate, every family had a signature that they would use to sign offical documents. These were regionaly used by families and ranged from triangles, circles, different symbols etc. Including swastikas. I have seen from historical local information book from a county called Säkkijärvi (current day Кондра́тьево) where there is chapter from this. Signature list in this was from 1910. Here a family used a swastika as a signature. Now I ask. What do the not yet formed and future Nazi Party and this illiterate family in Karelian Finland that have used this signature for generations have in common in 1910? Nothing And there the samilarities continue in a single thing. The symbol was same and that was it

This is the air force academy flag since 2005, inspired by the old air force insignia that was banned in 1944 due to obvious reason. And its origins therefor has nothing to do with fascism.

M05 uniform works very well in (Finnish) forest terrain so there is no need to change it. During conflicts, it is not about the look of the uniforms but of the ability to camouflage the troops. In addition the uniform has different variants for winter, desert and summer conditions. Oddly the parade troops in this video are wearing the summer variant.
@pirotess2

***** Because Green color can be see on snow easily. That is there point, if they wear winter, desert uniform, they will be hard to see on snow. The parade is for show off, not fighting.
@CaseliusFIN

pirotess2 Sorry for late answer, the uniform I mean is M05 Pakkastakki which you can see at 2:35. It is commonly used as the parade dress for conscripts. It has same pattern as summer uniform but with light green replaced with light grey colour.
@Omoplataha
3 жыл бұрын
I know this is years later. With every soldiers equiptment there is winter camouflage jacket and pants. You put those over your normal gear when snow arrives. It thus removes the logistics from having to have different patterned jackets issiued for different weathers. There is a winter jacket with darker pattern that is worn during garrison duty but not with combat gear.
