The 2006 Advance Acoustic MAA-406 had a few serious faults, 40% came back in the shop in the first year with issues. The 2013 Adavance acoustic X-A160 (from 2017 Advance Paris X-A160) is/was reliable because Advance didn't made a brand new amplifier but improved the old one and improved the weaknesses. This Amplifier have a very good building quality and is divided into compartments. Partly due to my low technical knowledge I could not see the quality of the parts. What is changed is: New schematics, same power transistors( (NJW0281G - NJW0302G) ) as in the MAA-1000 monoblock's and a brand new transformer, although the power (700VA) is the same.
I thought KM was Kemet but that's not true. Not sure what kind of brand KM is but I don't expect they are bad quality. If you have this amplifier(X-A160) you know that it sound good but if you doubt the quality there is always the possibility to change all the signal path capacitors/filters and the 4 large power capacitors in Japanese Nichicon capacitors( like they use in Bryston amplifiers) Only these caps would cost you maximum 175 euro) Personally, I don't think that is necessary and it will not make a difference in sound but I have no proof other than a feeling.
The Advance Paris X=160 power amp cost 1250 euro, that is in the same price class as the:
Rotel RB-1552 MKII (2x130W 8Ohm) 970 euro
NAD C275BEE (2x150w 8 ohm) 1300 euro
