You talk about all the costs to fly 100k miles and leave it to us to calculate the final number. What is the overall cost per mile? Please add that to all your comparisons.

It would have been good to mention range with 4, 6, and 8 passengers. The King Air is a “full fuel full seats” airplane.

We fly a 2017 King Air 350i and with 10 seats occupied (2 pilots) we can only carry about 3000 pounds of fuel on and fly 861 mile trip from KDAL to KORL with an alternate very close KMCO. I don’t know what the numbers are on the XLS but I know we cannot fill the seats and top off the fuel with conservative flight planning during thunderstorm season.

Are you really losing time in the air if you went for the KS350? Time could be spent, working in the air, extra time without disturbances? I still go with a PC24

Gues it all depends on whether you need to fly regional or national or even international for your businesses needs. I mean why buy a jet with a greater range, fuel consumption and even higher maintenance costs if you intend to keep your travels under say a 600 mile radius? The turboprop should still perform it's job well under these conditions such as taking you there fairly prompt and without the extra hassles of needing larger runways bieng able to land in smaller local landing fields with perhaps the use of only a single pilot and an amateur flyer such as yourself.

Which Aircraft would you like to Pilot? OR for the passengers... which aircraft would you like to ride it? Let us know down below.

We have a King Air 350i and I would take the XLS any day of the week for any mission that the King Air can fly. All around safer, faster, more comfortable, better ride, quieter along with better maintenance schedule. Oh, and did I mention an APU, stand up cabin.

I want an aircraft to be operational for less than $600. per hour, fly at 40k ft. and at 400+knots, with a range of 2k miles, and operate from a 4k ft. runway. Got any of those?

I don't know a lot about aircraft but i don't think you can find an aircraft with all of those 5 characteristic you are looking for, i would say you can only have 3 of those characteristics at one time. I guess if you want operational cost less than $600 you will be looking at turboprops mostly single engined like the Pilatus PC12 but it doesn't fly that high and doesn't fly at those speeds as well but they will operate in under 4K ft runway even in runway under 3K ft and fly around 1500 - 1800 miles. I would say look at piaggio avanti evo, it is probably the closest to all your needs, it's operating cost will be more $600 an hour but since it is a turboprop it still will be considerably cheaper than jets, it can do 400+ knots at 31K ft but can fly upto 41K ft and it needs less than 4K ft of runway but it doesn't fly 2000 miles, it flies around 1500 nm

@@superchargedpetrolhead, Thanks for the reply. I am looking at 2+ years to reach my purchase budget of 5 mil. It may be worth waiting for HondaJet to equip their next gen with a GE geared jet engine.
