They say Americans and the English are the same nations only divided by the same language. Where Sara says Fungi (she pronounces it fun g) we pronounce it fun guy. Just a noting that. What a great video, it's still as relevant today as it was when first aired 5 years ago

This is a wonderful video. I was just given a several fresh cut shag bark hickory logs and would like to do my own spalting. Can you tell me what type of curated fungi I need to produce spalting? Also, how do I purchase it? Thank You!

What is the difference between spalted wood and ambrosia type wood?

I believe that ambrosia happens after certain beetles get into the wood and allow moisture in. It is typically more "streaky" with fewer fine lines going in all direction.
