I feel that Apple have lost their way. They're not really making anything innovative, they're just iterating on the same design. They're focusing the mass audience and not the professional users, or those that are after the most power from their Macs etc. I've just gone from an iPhone 6S to a X, to see a slight difference in performance/battery/form factor. I got rid of my MacPro 2013 for a MacBook Pro 2019 last year as the laptop out performed that MacPro. I'd rather they increased the gap between launch cycles and gave us new designs and advanced technology.

Many big youtuber when they criticize apple they criticize in a way it’s not really criticize if you know what I mean Or they make it sound like it’s no big deal Eg if they talk about apple keeping series 3 watch they may even turn into a compliment like “Wow I’m surprised apple still sells series 3. that shows how much support apple products receive. And while it may not have all the latest feature but if you just want an entry level watch and don’t care for anything else and want to save money. That is the one to get “

“Leading”-in this context-rhymes with “bedding”. It comes from ye olde mechanical typesetting days when thin strips of lead (Pb) separated lines of text. More space required more lead. So, leading. Came here to say this. It's the noun "leading" based on the metal, not the gerund form of the verb "to lead" and it refers to the metal slug typographers put between lines of text for a printing press. Bonus, kerning is related to the letter spacing and refers to the way individual letters butt up against each other to be more pleasing to the eye.

If we really look at who the new iPhone is for, it's not for people coming from a 11 or 12. It's for those that need to replace their iPhone 7, 8 or 6S. And coming from those, there are major leaps ahead. Apple knows people hold onto their phones for much longer, that's why the changes are only incremental at this point. Sad but true unfortunately that real innovation on the iPhone range is long gone.
@davehugstrees

True but many people coming from a 7, 8, or 6S don’t want to downgrade to FaceID when they’re used to quick unlocking. If Apple had put TouchID in the power button like on their iPads, it would be the perfect upgrade and sell like hot cakes. Big missed opportunity in my opinion.

I think the iPhone Cinema mode is for people who are starting out on KZitem. Common advice from KZitemrs is to "get out the camera in your pocket and start". So, with this, they can match production values of Linus, Snazzy, and MKBHD without spending 100s or 1000s on equipment. This extends to people like me who are into videography but can't go all in on the full production processes. ML upscaling and HDR can't get praise while cinema videography doesn't. I ended up buying an iPad mini, was a tad unsure as I gave an iPhone 12 Pro Max, and the last iPad I owned was an OG iPad Air. After a few months I love the mini, it’s small, convenient and powerful. I barely notice the jelly scrolling and the battery is great for my needs, lasts 2 days easy. Would recommend

He's wrong about the iPad Mini. I know from the aviation sector alone that almost every student and instructor use them, they are almost critical in their role. I've also seen them used in medical fields and in a few others too. For me, I need something like the iPad mini just to be the something in between my desktop and my phone, and i'm a PC/Android guy.

Why did Apple make a marketing mistake? Says days before the Apple event don’t use it on scooters and then has the IPhone 13 mounted on it in the promo movie.

Glad they stuck with curved casing for the watch. A watch is something you wear all day on a very mobile joint so you need it to be comfortable. Especially when there's the expectation you'll be excersising with it a lot as apple has been pushing their fitness services. Can you imagine doing pushups with something square on your wrist? That's gunna dig into the skin a lot so when I saw all the leakers going on about a square design I though it was true because their phones have gone the same route but didn't think it was practical.
@TasX

Honestly I think Apple released some internal fake information to flush out the leakers that they’re already suspicious of. E.g. “hey senior engineer Jim, we’re gonna be making a square watch this year. This is top secret.” Next day, everyone talking about how the watch is gonna be square.

Realistically, this year was Apple's last chance to get me. I have wanted to try an iPhone but I refuse to go to lightning when literally every other device I travel with charges over USB-C. By next year, I doubt I'll be able to switch because the Google Assistant is becoming a bigger and bigger part of my life

Its just weird in general that Apple thinks the general public is out there shooting films on a cell phone. The reason why that scene looked "good" is because of the lighting, location and acting. Like he said, its just a gimmick.
@NeXMaX
3 жыл бұрын
@@ChocolateHabanero22 I think it's because it's just easier to "sell" the notion that your iPhone can create "professional level" images or footage without the need for something like a RED or even a higher-end mirrorless camera like a a7Siii, EOS R5 or Panasonic S1H. The only thing is that the people who actually want that kind of footage *and* can afford the setup will most likely just go with the aforementioned cameras, not an iPhone. It's nice that the cameras on the 13 are improved significantly, but a lot of the new stuff, I don't especially see many iPhone users leveraging.

8:20 sounds like we're in the exact same niche. Just ordered my first iPad Mini ever after having had the iPad Pro (2020) and loving it so much I ditched my Macbook Air. The iPad Mini 6 is going to be awesome for pilots (if you watched the event you know how they brought it up a couple times). I can't wait to be able to have something that fits in my lap that I can write down ATC instructions with using an Apple Pencil.

I'm on a three year payment plan for my iPhone 12 Pro Max. It's nice to see that Apple is still making progress. But the one thing that does not impress me is "promotion" 120hz displays. This isn't a sour grapes thing. It's just the idea that above a certain refresh rate, you won't perceive a difference anymore. As for Pro Res, that is kind of silly if you aren't running a maxed out iPhone. Hell, I default to 4k @ 24fps. I like the 4k vs 2k. But the memory usage grows too fast. I would love to shoot in 60 fps mode though. Although another issue is light. I do a lot of low light stuff. 24fps allows more light per frame. It does suck for action though. So in bright light, yeah I'll jump to 60fps. What I really want to see is seriously high frame rates for slo-mo photography. I upgraded from a 7+, so it will be a while before I upgrade again. These devices aren't cheap. I can't do better than a three year cycle. I'm sure I'm not alone in that.

I HATE my Series 3. Huge borders compared. No storage at all being WiFi only. Having to reset watch every time I need to update. I actually wanted a flat watch, but now idk if I want a cheap series 6 cellular or a new series 7 cellular. As a mechanic the dust improvement would be nice and a brighter AOS would help when I’m deep into a repair. Hard to pick now

I’m not sure you’ll turn out to be right about the iPad mini. I suspect there are a whole lot of folks out there who think the size is just perfect for reading and shoving into a pocket/hip bag/sling bag and who have been waiting for years for an upgrade. I know I was. I’m using my mini 5 a lot more than my 12.9 inch iPad Pro because of the mini’s form factor and I’ve been eagerly awaiting a refresh. This is a truly worthy refresh-A15 Bionic, great screen, support for Pencil 2 (enhancing the ability to use the mini for taking handwritten notes when out and about). My only real complaint is the lack of a 512 GB storage option. Can’t wait for mine to arrive on the 24th!

this seems to be a common issue: A reviewer knows all the previous models and looks at the upgrades more than onto the product itself. I as a normal consumer noted that usually a company lauches an exciting new architecture, and later some hardware updates. The latter gives reviewers less to talk about but those are usually a more mature product, giving the consumer less headache.

Would have never considered purchasing an iPad Mini before but now with the new design I’m actually replacing my old 9.7” iPad Pro with a new Purple iPad mini. After all this time I’ve never really utilized the Pro features of my current iPad. Ultimately I’ve only really use it for watching youtube so the iPad Mini is a great upgrade for me. If the size turns out to be good for me, this will be my iPad for the next few years so the price isn’t off putting for me.
